I've been advocating the same mindset as Koo to many homeowners and residential developers. If you build near nature, then be a part of nature. Mosquitoes will be rid of by dragonflies and frogs, there's no need to worry about them. If some birds fly into your home, take it as a gift instead of treating them as a pest. If you build near the forest and then just shut everything else out anyway, why build in there in the first place? It's quite an inspirational video. Thank you for this.

The design is so well done. The interior allowing in the exterior - truly spectacular. The space is tranquil. I love the central pond and that it is fed from the natural spring water and allowed to feel the rain. I am a home designer and this captured my imagination. Congratulations to all involved and the homeowners.

As a life long student of architecture no building construction is closer to my heart than those of the Oriental designers. The simplicity and elegance they put into their floor plans is second to none and the harmony with nature they invoke is simply stunning and takes ones breath away! Hats off to this architect for the vision to create such a master piece!

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Can't compliment you enough for the ideas and visuals in this video. The ability of the architects you feature to transform and combine brutalist components into magical spaces is so refreshing. So much of these concepts that I've seen in some local project videos really miss the mark with kitchens that have no natural light, or a heavy, bunker type feel to bedrooms and bathrooms. The form of this house both follows and directs better function. Just gorgeous.

Truly inspired by this episode. I love the way the Architect created the narrative of space from one to another area by framing them through the door, it gives us a transition to another space and brings out curiosity and embracing nature without crossing much of the habitat and nature's privacy. Respect nature and enjoy what nature gives to them in return. The Scenery is absolutely picturesque from the balcony. With the vision of the architect and the natural person of the owner even though the architecture design was not breathtaking but more into functionality, but it really paid off with the scenery. One thing I liked the most was the Architect curated the spaces by bringing nature into the house such as a pond that really brings harmoniously into the space as well as the benches that oversee the forest. A Life by Design!

some of the older day wisdom to reduces the mosquito is to allow a good airfow , avoid humid envionments and to not locate heavy broad trees near the houses. that why kampung houses have a large open area and built at stilts.

With such open concept design in the tropical climate, I was always questioning the mosquitoes and other insects and the challenge of design and mechanics and materials to deal with it. The nature, dragon flies is the solution?
@YellaBellaReno Жыл бұрын
Untouched nature has a way of keeping the balance. It’s all about not having stagnant water, unless that water is also populated with the things that eat mosquitos, like dragonflies. Dragonflies have the highest kill rate of any insect, and they’re very effective hunters; they catch 95% of what they chase. When they are nymphs, which is most of their life, they eat mosquito larvae. When they emerge from the water, they take to the air to eat mosquitos and other pesky fly species. 1 dragonfly eats over 100 mosquitos a day.

He made a very good point about losing nature. As a johorean, i was shocked to learn that Rhinos once roamed our forests. In JB, all you can see is space wasting landed houses as far as the eyes can see. This is why we need more high density, high rise developments to minimise land usage and accommodate the growing population. I planted rose bushes and many native flowers in my graden and felt so happy when a butterly landed on my hand for the first time last year. Removed carpet grass and let the native wilflowers grow in naturally that doesnt require watering everyday. Just small things i can do to help the environment.
