Stunning property with amazing original detailing. Grandeur, style and opulence with modern high tech features. An original Robert Adam fireplace and mantle 😍

Robert Adam was working from after 1760 so your fireplace isn’t from the early 1700s, it’s mid Georgian if it is indeed an authentic Robert Adam piece. I doubt very much of that interior is original to the house, the panelling and ceilings look mostly reproduction. That doesn’t affect the price as these homes sell on size and location and aren’t usually bought by British or Europeans who prefer genuinely authentic historic properties.

Thanks for the note on Robert Adam. I'll have to double fact check next time I get information! Yes there are some original details in the home but there are certainly reproduction upgrades as well

You are quite correct, that is an amazing property. But who was responsible for the decorating? Frankly it was hideous. Lots of stuff, lots of money, no feel for the building, location, history or actually living there. Every room was an assault on the senses, are we looking at modern art, classical, old money, what? what? Then beige or brightly coloured, take your pick, none of it creates any type of harmony or welcome whatsoever. Well done for being so enthusiastic, I would have started screaming after half an hour, lol.

I need to know what's the minimum number of staff and capital equipment required to maintain its luster till the time I plan to own the property. What will be the projected monthly bill. This house NEEDS staff (or at least till we get the OpenAI + Boston Dynamics domestic robots).
@holtrealestate5 ай бұрын
Lol Boston Robotics would be great. Certainly needs staff! At least one caretaker in my op!

Now that is a nice home, yes its big but it does feel like a family could live there without feeling lost.

When I see homes like this, I think about the small army that you would need to hire to maintain it. Just maintaining all of those pot lights would be a full time job. You would probably have to have live in help which means you live with employees. This lack of privacy would feel uncomfortable and even a bit violating. While maintaining it oneself would be very difficult if not impossible, maintaining the maintainers is no Sunday walk in the park.

Excellent point. Smaller places especially to have in multiple locations vs one large place in one location has been trending for quite some time now. Certainly my preference too although everyone is different!

@@holtrealestate I'm thinking about the level of street noise and pollution from road traffic that you'd get there as well. If I had that level of money to spend on a home in London I think I'd prefer a house or a big flat, even a penthouse, overlooking the Thames.

@@Treviscoe Not sure if you're London based or elsewhere, but you might be surprised to know that there are pockets of London that are very quiet, almost like little towns within the city. I visited an office recently opposite the house that Benjamin Johnson lived in, and it was amazingly quiet, the street too small to really take traffic.

@@mehitabel6564Thanks for replying. North London (at least the wealthier parts of it) is pretty quitet on the whole, true. I don't think this house would qualify though. I live about 220 miles from London, so way outside commuting distance :)

GOSH! I imagine you won't get much change out of £500,000, though!
