This week is a doubly special episode as we welcome Reuben back after a couple of months of hiatus (and a new haircut!), and we also have the pleasure of touring an incredible shophouse home in Joo Chiat.
It’s a conservation residential shophouse that sits on 1,600 square feet of land, and 3,600 interior built up. It was designed by trader and interior blogger Vivienne ( / thehomeodyssey , and the result is a wonderful sanctuary that is certainly a very unique home.
Her living room and palm tree courtyard is inspired from her travels and wedding in Tuscany, and the neutral colours along with the pop of green from the plants in the courtyard evokes such a relaxing and comforting atmosphere.
Her kitchen is also a thing of beauty. The modern farmhouse look is perfectly complemented with the arched black-framed doors, and the greenery placed at the backyard is a picture that you’d probably never associate with a home in Singapore. Not to mention, the Bertazzoni is a really apt addition.

The is the second video I’ve watched on your channel. The detail you go into on the tour is so nice for the viewer. Nothing was glossed over. This home is stunning and so well planned out. It’s got great functionality and it is so beautiful and serene. The owners did such a wonderful job! this is simply the best and most stunning home i have ever seen in singapore,i was so suprised the owner own the items from Han dynasty , and very very wealthy, as i know,this kind of stuff cannt be sold to individuals. glad the owner didnt forget the root , this house is so tasteful and i hence believe that the tasteful home comes with the wealthy consuming. well done stacked homes,i spent one whole day watched all the vedios,it is so happy to see so many different homes in singapore, and thanks for the owner to share the house to us to inspire us.
