Working on a stack of these today. Thank you for the concise explanation of how these work. It offsets my very minimal atmospheric troubleshooting skills quite nicely. Cheers from the USA!
@nickbenke3306 Жыл бұрын
I replaced the heat exchanger on one of these today, when re-assembled I found it to be blowing air right back into the fluid bottle! Loty's of bubbles! I added another piece of pipe to create the air/fluid mix just before the heater! Because it's been awaiting parts for months I assumed that I misplaced some some - including the piping. It works great now! Tip: If haze or smoke machines seem to have a blockage, disconnect the power to the pump and add your own 240v feed. It will blast any debris right out the other end. After all, they usually only pump momentarily in service and some De-ionised water is a good cleaner.

And also German for throttle, oh boy! Little Graham learned a new thing today: Etymology! Meanings of words can change or multiply as knowledge grows and new terms are needed! Also, different languages derive terms differently for the same item that does a certain thing! If you really want to find a link, here's one: lmgtfy.com/?q=drossel+etymology. Enjoy!

Nice to see that your hazebase base hazer looks as wet inside as ours do.... Typical problem with them Air pump, liquid gets on the display.... But really great units, especially in the case design
@bigclivedotcom4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we've had to rinse off some of the control modules with isopropanol to get the back in action again. Not overly keen on the way the internal pump chassi plate is mounted. Quite tricky to get out if the nuts are crusty and the rubber dampers are spinning.
@backenicht4 жыл бұрын
Yes Sadly we had to order spare parts, always shit if you dry hire stuff and no one tells you If something is wrong..... So you take a quick look, everything looks OK, put it back in storage and then the fluid begins to work inside... :(

PRG branded hazer? We use Ultratec Radiance at work, they use a 4-chambered aluminum exchanger with copper tubes for input and output. It fills our stage and house pretty quickly and thickly, and the chambers are very easy to clean... But, if you try to take the silicone tubing off the input tube, it often sticks and can cause the overheated copper to break.

In some ways, yes, but even at full tilt they don't put out enough vapor to do much. A smoke/fog machine (esp. like the Le Maitre G-Force series hooked up to a low fog generator) will put out closer to the density for making that a "fun" activity.

Hi Clive, I work with a company that has this model. They're forever clogging their atomiser (E8). Don't suppose you have, or know where I can pick up, any servicing tips? It's getting very expensive and, seemingly a bit pointless, repeatedly sending them to pricey service centres (that shall remain nameless : ) ).
@bigclivedotcom8 жыл бұрын
The heated atomiser in these has a really large bore. I'm not sure how prone they are to clogging. It might be worth routinely using the white vinegar trick to flush them through from time to time. (outdoors) What actually happens when they stop producing haze? Is there an error code?
@noturauntie47848 жыл бұрын
Indeed, It displays Error 8 (the same for Look Solutions, Hazebase and Smoke Factory, I think). The manual advises against any flushing procedure. Nonetheless I've given it a go with white vinegar and distilled water without much luck. I'm running out of ideas and they're, otherwise, brilliant machines!
@bigclivedotcom8 жыл бұрын
That suggests that the fluid is backing up the air line and being sensed where the tube passes through an optical detector on the main circuit board. It could be caused by various things like the air pump not running properly or the machine being shipped in random directions causing fluid to make its way up to that area in the tube.
@noturauntie47848 жыл бұрын
I'll open one up when I see them next. I know they've had one fail on panto. Thanks for that, very useful.
@Razor20488 жыл бұрын
Cool, I wonder, is the fluid that the machine uses, safe?
@MartinGod39928 жыл бұрын
Yup the fluid is just water and food based additives (glycol normally) some fluids like the Le Maitre machines uses sugar instead
@RambozoClown8 жыл бұрын
Safe for what?
@twocvbloke8 жыл бұрын
They usually use propylene glycol, which is in foodstuffs, soaps, personal grooming products, asthma inhalers, liquid medications, etc., so yep, perfectly safe... :)
@Razor20488 жыл бұрын
Just in general since if you are anywhere near the machine while it is in use, and you may end up berating in some of the haze.
@twocvbloke8 жыл бұрын
Razor2048 They've been using the same glycol solution in smoke machines for decades, nobody has suffered as a result of it, and as a main component in electronic cigarettes, it's still classed as a safe chemical...

The air is maybe there to create air pressure when it heats up it expands. On smoke machines it is not needed.
@NightWolfx038 жыл бұрын
I loathe fog machines, mostly because I know what it's like when people chose to run aftermarket fluid and you end up replacing heater cores all the time. PSA: Don't use cheap aftermarket fluids just because they're cheap, you'll make up the savings you got in costs of replacing heater cores.
