Proteins that build up are what's causing the traffic jam into the nuclear port. Maybe start by finding which protein and use an antibody to remove them, also maybe find a way to sneak past the nuclear port thus minimizing congestion. Wish I was a scientist, instead I'm a hairstylist.

I did some research and ALS is caused by mitochondrial dysfunction that is caused by exposure to certain pesticides in gardening and agriculture, formaldehyde in diesel/jet fumes, formaldehyde in corpse preservation, pathegons in algal blooms in dirty water. As a result the following professions are higher risk for developping ALS: Professional outdoor sport players, professional gardners, professional pilots and truck drivers professional water skiers, militairy personal; and funeral directors

why does this happen exclusively to motor neurons?
@ludovandenbosch56637 жыл бұрын
Good question! Not yet known. Could have to do with the fact that motor neurons have very long axons. Or because these cells are more sensitive to some neurotransmitters .

A rare gene produces the Valosin Protein Disease which can be responsible for Paget's disease ( the bone disease) ALS (MND) Parkinson's and certain types of dementia which is why a variety of these diseases can be found in families where the rare gene is inherited. It might be possible to slow down this degeneration of cells by certain supplements which boost glutathione which is necessary for regeneration of cells involved in tissue building and repair, hopefully scientists will do more research in this area.

@Peacock__4 жыл бұрын
@@mexicanchamp2282 its got nothing to do with bacteria. Its the systematic degradation of motor neurones. There's actually a genetic condition which causes people to develeop it early which means it's 100 percent not bacterial - it could be all genetic, we don't know, there's not enough research or evidence.

It is only "Un-Curable" at this time because the scientists have not figured out what causes it, and therefore what can stop, reverse, or cure the process from happening. To claim that it is "un-curable" is like giving up on patients any future hope for a cure.

depth of content worthy of nature journal. however agreeing with another commenter that key questions are skipped, why does it only affect motor neurons etc, which could have been touched on by one sentence, e.g. it's not clear whether. That could have improved the quality of the video tremendously
