Your video has brought back Wonderful memories. I work down there right before they closed. I started working there in 1996. The second shift was eliminated in the I&P department after about 8 years. I was laid off . I went to school and started working in retail Pharmacy. I returned to work at Carlisle Finishing 22 years later, worked 2 years and the plant closed. It was a great company and I met alot of great people. I miss working there soo much.... your video has me tearing up. ( good tears ) I am blessed with wonderful memories that were made there! ❤ Carlisle Finishing Plant ❤

I believe I may have visited this plant back in the 1980's and serviced some large air compressor's that were either removed or just slipped by the camera lens. Worked a lot of textile mills all over the south including the carpet industries.

That was an interesting video. I wonder what is going to happen to that building. Both of my parents worked in textiles when they were younger. My dad was actually granted a deferment from military service during WW2 because he inspected parachute material. They considered his job crucial to the war effort.

Chat GPT said : The Textile Finishing Plant in Carlisle, South Carolina, closed in 2020 and later faced scrutiny due to environmental concerns. Following the closure, it was discovered that waste lagoons left on-site contained high levels of PFAS, or "forever chemicals," which posed a risk to the nearby Broad River and local drinking water.

Cone mills had operations all over NC as did Burlington Industries when NAFTA was implemented they all left for south of the border taking thousands of jobs and nothing to replace them.

I've watched a lot of these abandoned videos, all mansions. Why doesn't the government fix those up for illegals until they are deported when Trump takes over? This place could hold a lot of them

Hotels in NY are more comfy. Shopping, free food, tourits wallets, so much fun. ... well, seriously, you are right, I would host them in that factory.
