INSIDE Any% Speedrun in

1:00:51 is my PB for Inside Any% Speedrun (07 Oct 2021).
- This run contains the new Mine Door skip and the Water skip ... also the Double Button Door (DBD) with helmet on (which is extra difficult to get right) ... hope you enjoy o/ I'll see you soon with another PB (hopefully).

One day about 9 months ago I randomly reached back into the depths of my childhood memories to retrieve a seemingly random memory from when I was 11 of a game(demo) I enjoyed playing so much on my Xbox 360. I hopped on KZbin and searched “Limbo speed run” and stumbled across your channel. I love watching the games you play, the style of Inside, Limbo, Little Nightmares, they all just evoke an eerie feeling and I love it. Anyways, long story short I appreciate your content and the work you put into the games. I hope life is good!

Very very cool run. So glad that you have the input capture, that really helped me to know what to do to optimize elevator skip as well as some other things. I'll defo be adding optimized elevator skip to my runs. I did have a few questions if you have a second to answer.

0:43 Any particular reason you don't do the fast crawl here? In front of the tree I mean. I noticed this in your previous run too and I thought it might have been a mistake but now I have to think you do it on purpose :P 13:07 Interesting that you don’t use the jump set up strat for lineup skip? Maybe it’s faster if you get the right pushback if you do the walk setup? But the jump set up seems very consistent for me anyway. I know you used it in your last run. 17:23 is there actually a point to trying to optimize this section? It’s not like you can catch an earlier cycle on the light, can you? Or, and I’ve always had this sinking dread, does the light actually move faster if you get there sooner? 37:51 Why do you not do the tap ups here to get to the surface instead of doing it all with a hard diagonal? If it’s faster other places to do the tap ups, then why not do it during chain skip also? Also when does the new playdead game release kappa

@@moon_nick 1. for some reason , the fast crawl tech isn't faster at the truck scene ... but it works in every other place with sneak walking 2. each setup has its benefits and downsides ... to me at least ^^ ... I usually go with whatever worked in the latest training session before the run 3, in theory there's no point , but if you mess around and something unpredictable happens on the way to the searchlights , you ruin the run ... btw , that being said , don't ask me why I do the cage swag literally a minute later , during the searchlight puzzle -,- 4. I don't understand the question , which part of the swim are you referring to? ... there are several little sections during chain skip , and the time stamp you provided is at a point where I don't go hard diagonal up , I actually do a sort of tap-release up , but the question implies that I don't do taps ... or maybe you're referring to the next swim , but that's not a diagonal swim ... so I'm a bit confused xD

@@parhelion3927 As far as chain skip goes I was referring the next session yes. So you just go horizontal across the level and then at the last moment hold up and get the diagonal. I would just think it would be faster to do the taps up until you reach the surface and then just go horizontal. Sorry if that still makes no sense. Also, for the truck scene, I mean just in front of the tree. Dave does it in his PB. After the roll there's a moment when you're in front of tree and you can do the fast crawl before transitioning to the quick jumps, at least I think so because I tried it with Penta's app and it does seem to be faster. Sorry for being confusing lol.

Congratulations!!! Exciting to see all the strats you've been grinding all strung together nicely. Is it possibly worth taking the time to get the stumble glitch given that you keep the helmet the rest of the way? (Side note, I was a little sad to see the helmet go away once the kid merged with the Huddle. I was hoping to see the Huddle donning it ;-)

unfortunately the stumble glitch is obsolete , and the minecart skip is only useful for orb runs :(

At 13:13 how do you know when to stop jumping?

at that exact moment you mentioned I knew I had to reset the pushback because it was going the wrong way (towards the background is not good, you need a foreground pushback) so that's why I stopped at that timestamp ... but if you mean in general, for the entire pushback, when do I know I'm far enough into the foreground? - I count all the climbs, plus there's a significant change in climbing animation @13:46 which lets me know exactly how far in the foreground I am, so from this point I only need ~15 more climbs (the number may vary depending on how good the pushback is up to this point) ... sorry for such a long and complicated post, but the short/simple answer would be : I watch the boy very carefully and I count xD

there already is an autosplit for INSIDE ... in LiveSplit , you go to "edit splits" and hit the "activate" button ...then you can set it up for your liking

yup , it's another type of pushback , it can go forward or back ... also yep , you can do it while having the stumble glitch , but it's significantly slower , plus the stumble is lost once you reach the bridge where the shockwave can blast you ...

yup , it's 10% faster than just holding right ... with the exception of scripted parts , where the kid is being chased by guards , or dogs , or the shockwave section , etc (in these cases it's not faster to jump)

it's faster to jump like that, compared to just walking... the difference is ~10% (which is quite significant in speedrunning)

the fact is that I did the same on the screen as I did on the screen and it didn't work for me, the character just jumps in place :)

@@4thgenius this means you're not far enough into the foreground for the kid to climb the ledge ... make sure you push the cart all the way right, climb it as far right as possible, and climb down ... then you have to tap right a few times , not holding right , and not too rapidly , to approach the glass slowly
