Bulgarian here, this is by far the best Buzludzha video I have seen!! It's an outright documentary! Most videos I've seen of the site, the visitors just used to turn up and find that the building is closed and maybe some security guard was walking around. Amazing to watch! I shed a tear actually. And I was thinking that whether some people liked the communist system and others didn't, this is still a piece of history that must be preserved! Fantastic video, and I hope they achieve their goal of the full restoration of the building, even though in Bulgaria things generally happen a lot slower.

This is such a fascinating, informative, educational and inspiring video. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You have done an outstanding job highlighting the restorative efforts taking place here. I like Dora's ideas about making the structure useful for artists and musicians to exhibit their creations and their talents. A "gathering place for positivity". I am glad that she wants to present the past history objectively and not gloss over the negatives of the Communist era in Bulgaria. Take care, Matt and Julia and enjoy your onward journey this week. 🤗❤️🙏🌎

This is so nice to watch! I admire Dora and her team for their efforts and dedication. When things go south it's always easy to look the other way and pretend it never happened - it takes courage to accept, remember, criticize, compare, embrace and then take it into a hopefully better future. I hope they are successful and if I'd get the chance I would absolutely visit Buzludzha, after it has reopened to the public.

Well, that's sad. As a Romanian I think that's sad. I'm... I was curious why humans could abandon something like Gobekli Tepe. I mean, there's a theory that the site was simply abandoned. This site reminds me of why people abandon sites. On the other hand, we in Romania have Casa Poporului (House of the people). It's the biggest building on earth by weight. It's now the Parliament building. It's kinda like the Bulgarian Buzludzha except Ceaucescu was way more crazy. And third, and here is where it gets interesting, there are old sites, of the bourgeoisie, kept from when this country was a kingdom. Like Peles Castle. Some might say it's a relic from another era, that was respected and preserved, in spite of despising the era they are in. I am sorry to say but at this point Buzludzha is too far gone. It's only the concrete left. All the other stuff was valuable, not the concrete. Really sad. But on the other hand, maybe they bring back life to Gobekli Tepe. People around this area seem to need sometimes milenia to remember who they are :)

Personally I would like to see this become something important for the people, regardless of the politics. While she may not like the idea of removing so much of the political images, as people will find them very upsetting, or find them inspiring to return to the past. Turning it into a cultural center makes sense, and certainly all those extremely expensive materials like marble, copper, would unreasonable given the immense costs. She has the "opportunity" to modify the materials, to bring in more Bulgarian craftsmanship and traditions. My point, make it for the people of the future, let the political change but keep the building for everyone.

Great video, and quite jealous. Such an iconic communist building. I knew it was in a state, but not quite that bad. These places need preserving, we need to preserve the bad and good. No point sanitizing history. We need the bad to measure the good against, and warn us what errors went before.

The difference between the past and the present is clearly displayed here - before it was a time of peace, beauty, culture, warm and open human relationships, desire to develop, achieve more, to be useful to society.... now - devastation, profanity, barbarism, crime and cold ignorance and pointless hate amongst the people... So sad we now live in the cruel and primitive times of democracy ...

Like it or not its your history.... Learn from it and move on and better yourself as a culture. Pros and cons to everything. But just remember your history is still there.. Be better move on and up. America is flawed as all get out with the hidden Socialisms. But we always need to learn move on and up. Be better as a populace worldwide.
