Hi Chris ! How do you do ?, as I'm Cambodian , I would like to thanks to you for your lovely video and especially you love Cambodian peoples and to promote our country. Most of youngs girls in Cambodia, they didn't want to shake hands, they feel shy with the guys . But not all of them, we can say it 's probably a culture.
@livefree288118 сағат бұрын
Hand shakes are very personal in Asian countries,especially for females or minors not to mistake it for flirting so that’s why some shy away 😂😢
@KhmerMinnesnowta21 сағат бұрын
Chris and Gladys, both of you got master degree in YT. Thanks for supporting and promoting the KOW. Also, a special shout out to CamboVlogs as well🎉 You're very lucky to be able to see the king on his way to the water festival. This brought me back great memories in the 60s as I always spent my time with my family during these special festivities. Most of them did not survive the horrific genocide there. Only memories live on. We're in the 40F to 50F here in Minnesota. Peace and enjoy your trip 🎉

Flattened rice, or Ambok, is a Cambodian snack during Water Festival. They eat it with banana and other preferred fruits. Usually Cambodian people eat it during full moon celebration at mid night.

Oh yeah, my friend just told me this is a Water Festival. The Boat Parade is another big event with beautifully decorated lit boats parading by along with people offering prayers on individual lotus gifts offering glowing floats in the water at night. I am glad to see you and Patrick hang out together, especially showcasing the Water Festival Boat Parade. I have to catch it the next time I visit. It looks like a lot of fun! 🤩 If I am not mistaken, I think you can visit the Royal Palace but only the Palace grounds and the surroundings outside the actual Palace itself. For Royal Palace inside where the royals live and reside, you need a special invitation, which is customary in all Royal traditions.

At 26:00 It is call "Om Bok" flattened rice. It is very popular during Water festival. It is a tradition that we eat during a full moon. Pretty much the last day of the event. You can eat with bananas or you can pour a glass of coconut water and add Om Bok and scrap all the young coconut meat and stir it . Please look up and see the beautiful moon while you eating. You don't know how amazing it when they see you eat it. Imagine if you are fresh off the boat and know how to eat turkey and mashed potatoes during Thanksgiving

Hi again my Cambodian superstar Chris, I’m glad that u and Patrick collaborated. He explained everything very well. Now I want to explain about the handshakes. Traditionally, we do salute or greeting with this hands gestures 🙏 it shows respects from younger to older ages. And some of us shy or not used to handshakes (specially females) because our women are raised or taught to not be touched by men (unless they’re married). So def not hug either lol. However, this is getting old, more and more ppl in Cambodia now are accepting and adapting to the Western cultures too. Lastly, I like how u appreciate and point out that most ppl/sellers in Cambodia rarely try to rip u off or give no changes. I’m sure u also noticed when u give them tips/ changes to keep, they even hesitate to take it because we are honest and have big hearts like u said. Of course, there are always bad apples, but mostly u find good ones in Cambodia. Big big thanks/ thank you very much! They both make sense. Just people commonly use thank u very much more. ❤ 🇰🇭
