I just got back from Cairo and Luxor and as someone that suffers from claustrophobia - I am actually really proud of myself for being able to go all the way up to the sarcophagus. I think what helped was not going at super busy times - for eg early mornings ARE PACKED because most places close by 4/5pm. Also I went bang in the middle of May ! And the scammers are definitely annoying because they just refuse to take NO for an answer, You just have to be SO patient and try to keep your calm.

There re many young countries in the world.. Morocco is one of tge oldest kingdoms in the world. Marrakech used to be a capital from where big part of north africa and andalucia was ruled. Jemaa lfna and surroundings are often thousand year old and protected by unesco. The places are tryed to be kept the same. Jemaa lfna has tourist police office therewhere people can complain. Still the region is deserty area with tourism as main revenue and people from surrounding mountains come to make money and unfortunately even do scamming. In Jemaa lfna u still can walk safely. In many other touristy cities the main areas are full of thieves and pickpockets. In Marrakech city has tryed to reduce scammers and professional begging but its difficult and the place is unesco protected. If you would know how much money those restaurants and even professional beggars make u would be suprised. Old houses Riads surrounding the market are always full as well and each has so many rooms for tourists .. its constant income.. p The place has rich empire history and is protected and it is money making machine for so many people... Even in some european big major cities i know people that got stabbed or beaten up or stolen their purses. This thing people do in Marrakech is called buy and sell.. its normal there to try win as much money as possible even if its not fare. Thats why gotta negotiate and things re like this cuz its tryed to be kept like that
