It was originally designed as a ‘Commercial’ aircraft that could provide low density passenger service in short haul flights into remote locations and undeveloped airfields. In terms of Commercial aircraft, it’s relatively small. We have aircraft that can carry 600+ passengers and weight over a million pounds at Take-Off. When you’re talking about private ownership and general aviation, it tends to be one of the larger and more powerful ones.

Having spoken to pilots who've flown them they are bad compared to other types. Prone to corrosion in Europe. It fills a position better filled by light twins. It's not a STOL machine so is not suited to the jobs the Beaver and Otter do.

Has anyone thought of converting a Cessna turbo prop like this to mostly carbon fiber or graphene carbon fiber, with a solid oxide fuel cell and electric turboprop? A private pilot could fly people for significantly longer and cheaper
