☢️ Great to be back with a new series, as mentioned, this is my second time in Chernobyl. My last visit here in 2018 was an incredible experience so decided to come back and go deeper and experience more of this dark but fascinating place. I hope you will enjoy this series and I am looking forward to sharing more of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone with you in coming videos. Let me know your feedback below and if you want to see the photos I got in Chernobyl (I took many) then check out my instagram here: instagram.com/indigo.traveller/ Thank you for watching!

Hey! How is it that the guide allows you to enter any building you desire, considering it's illegal to do so and could void his license? Is there a special media pass or something that you were issued that withdraws these rules?

I briefly worked with a woman who lived in Chernobyl and was a child when the incident occurred. She and many other children who lived there had to have their thyroids removed later on in life as a precaution from cancer. She went on to become a doctor and immigrated to Canada. I'm glad to see Igor again since Exploring with Josh went there. If I ever go to Chernobyl one day, which is on my top ten destinations list, I wouldn't want anyone else but him as my guide. I went there in 2013 just before the war started and did the guided tour. Since then there has been numerous youtubers filming the same main "attractions" that everyone likes to see. It gets a little repetitive. I'm sure there's a million interesting places left to explore there if the guide is willing/able to deviate from the regular program. So far this series looks promising as the first episode provides a more in depth look into some of the places than documented before.

Can you get Igor to explain what he thinks or what the Ukrainian government's long term plan is with the region? Are they going to just leave the region abandoned as or will they plan on urbanizing it? if so, how long will they need to wait for the reactor dome to be lifted, or could they develop around it? The future of Pripyat, just like the past, fascinates me...

To be fair, any city would look like this if abandoned for 35 years. There's nothing special about any of the facilities except for the radiation debris from the clothes in the hospital basement. High radiation levels can't be seen, only on the radiation detectors. This was just a nice Soviet city that is in ruins. Anywhere else it would have all been torn down. I've heard a lot of these places have been looted or rearranged extensively to make good photos over the years.

Jeez Nick, terrifying enough and the guy showing you round named "Igor" seriously, what a total tragedy, I saw the Chernobyl series, the horror of it all was shocking, I think your doing an excellent job putting this appalling circumstance back in peoples minds. Being a cancer sufferer myself, was any "real" (not cover up) estimation taken of the damage done by the radioactive cloud that emanated accross the world in health terms? Your obviously a brave young man, keep up the good work - true journalism

Thank you Joseph, appreciate that. I hope you are recovering and are in reasonable health now. As far as I know any real estimation of the total effect on people's health is hard to accurately measure as it was so spread out and hard to keep track of but the official numbers drastically underrepresented the truth of the tragedy that this accident caused.

Amazing documentary, it really gives the sense of the situation! Note aside, that just came out, is the fact that reactor n.4 started to malt down again, another fusion started!

those lonely dogs were really cute. I had a bad mood when I saw the dogs over there. I am from Finland I have heard and read a lot about what happened and discussed it with older people. a really scary looking place. :(

Having the dog follow you around, and grab a doll to his mouth, very profound. Back in those days, being a new mother, back 35 yrs ago, how could we allow leaders to do this to our world and keep the hope for a peaceful change for all people. There is stuff left behind in pockets of the world, nothing comes as significant as the visit you had, thank you for your profound story " Inside Chernobyl's Empty Hospital"

I can’t believe they didn’t tell you that it’s a bad idea to touch. The worst will seep deep into the ground but there’s still surface contamination.

I am excited for this series. I have seen the documentaries and the series. It's so fascinating. But I always have to remember how sad it also is. So many lives lost. Stay safe out there and thank you for going out there and showing us. I never could or will be able to travel there myself.
