At least cig sets their policy straight. Cults3d is now prohibited to even just type in star citizen in the search bar because of the many people putting out their original cmt files to print on the site. Its called protect whats yours and many companies need this to be a necesity. People thinking they can share whatever they want nowadays

It's so interesting to see this side of the game development.. we tend to focus on the code and game model work and miss the mocap parts with the sheer volume of stuff getting shown off. That mocap room looks amazing! All it needs is one of those Star Trek cargo bay doors to look like a holodeck right out out of Voyager.

That's pretty cool they let you show some of the mocap process. Star Citizen is a lot of fun, and I am really looking forward to Squadron 42 because it's clear from the prologue they nailed the look and feel of an epic sci-fi game and movie down to the epic music from a guy that worked on Pirates of the Carribean.

awesome vid anna. though i have to say those mo-cap suits look like Borg beginner outfits from star trek. that studio looked wild. imagine from such an wide open environment they fit you into whatever background your characters need to be in on the CGI/video side of it. meanwhile you're like "yeah i stood in this 100x100 room for a few hours" while your character is in a closet or something.

As someone who changed to a schedule where you have to be up at 6 am vs 10-noon, I have no idea why anyone would want to be up this early. I was lucky in college by having a professor who was able to get us into. vo studio and show us how it works and try it out. Never got to see mocap in action(might not have been big in my area in 07). I gotta say Mocap looks like one of the most fun jobs. Not only do you get the creative challenges with acting in a blank space, you also get some really snazzy outfits.

Curious to know - as I love all kinds of Mo-Cap gear - how does the head gear feel, just wondering if it has any heavy weight to it and if it does can it make performance a little difficult sometimes? The headgear is single handedly the hardest part of motion capture for me, you have something directly in front of your vision no matter where you look whilst it’s shining a light directly in your eyes 💀 It’s not heavy persay though it’s lightweight plastic and the frame is a light metal!
