@@ernestoramirez8289 I was well-known as the kid who mowed lawns in that area. They always had a guy providing security, always a bilingual man although they only spoke Spanish. My Spanish then was not as good as it is now but they always seemed very calm & warm, asked me if I wanted something to drink for instance. They just seemed like normal people.

Castro was not a communist in the first place but decided to co-operate with Russia because he was forced to this step by the US due to the embargo policy of the US. This was very short-sighted by the imperialistic US (CIA), as it was in Chile, Iran, Irak, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Afghanistan etc. There is no sign of intelligence in that - but Central Intellgence (Agency). This newsreel is a very typical propaganda clip of the time, mostly inspired by the US. Today we know the facts. BTW: Guantànamo still exists (on Cuba).

First of all the u.s considered cuba as a puppet state under its control and u.s businesses were thriving while cubans didn't profit that much from the wealth created in the island. Cubans were very unpleased by the situation back then, especially with the rise of batist as a cruel dictator tolerated by the u.s (his biggest ally). This whole situation led to the cuban revolution and the clear support of the majority of cubans for Fidel and his group. The u.s always intermingles with local politics and economies of other countries including the ones mentionned by Boy Herre. Don't be an easily brainwashed stupid imperialist or capitalist. This makes you not better than someone brainwashed by communist Propaganda and ideology.

Cuba has the worst pollution. Pristine? It is a dirty and nasty place to live thanks to socialism. One of their oil tanks in their oil tank farms (confiscated from Shell by the Castro Regime) blew up earlier this year belching massive amounts of burned oil and pollution in the air. None of their refineries or electrical grids are maintained. Please stop with the B.S. Venezuela is even worst. Communist Venezuela has made the Gulf of Venezuela a cesspool.
