Yup, there is a world of difference between simply driving then kicking to an open teammate, than actually orchestrating an offense and setting up a perfect shot. Point guards nowadays are more inclined to get their own shot while occassionally passing to a wide open shooter, but that's not play-making. Pure PGs like CP3 know exactly what the right play is at every situation cause they have a different feel for the game than others.

I know we rag on Kenny a lot, but his comment obviously flew over your head. Most players playing the point nowadays are hybrid/combo guards with more emphasis on scoring, not pure point guards that oversee everything and always looks to make the best play. There hasn't been a pure point guard in the last 10 years imo. The last generation of pure points was the generation of CP3, Steve Nash, and Jason Kidd. Great commentary on point guards by Kenny, but mildly hot take on Dallas’ chances in this series. Even with Booker at less than 100, I’d be surprised if the Suns need 6 to close out the Mavs.

@Guggernut 2 жыл бұрын
The Mavs had the 2nd best record in the NBA post all star break, behind the Celtics, and had the top rated Defense. I think you're underrating their team, and overrating the Suns at the moment. The Pelicans arr a far worse team that the Jazz and they needed 6 games to get past them.

What Kenny said is right. That's why whenever I see people having debates about the best pgs in the league, I always tell them don't include most players in the league like Curry, Ja, Kyrie, Trae because they're not 'true' point guards even though they play in that position.

How does CP3 not have a single MVP award, but Lebron has 4 ? They literally both pick up their teams' record and make them a lot better, the fact that CP3 wasn't in MVP talks last or this year with one of the best records in the league, just shows the media bias towards him. Whatever, he'll get that FMVP.
