UK Dodgers fan, fell in love with baseball during a four thousand mile road trip in the US 1996. Watched the Dodgers vs I can't remember who in a dive bar in Colorado and have been a fan ever since. The Dodgers are spending money to win, brings in the fans, creates more money, brings more wins, more fans, more money etc etc. They are the perfect sports team model. Those in previous comments who think european "soccer" teams look after their fans are seriously deluded. They will squeeze every penny they can out of you as a fan and then throw you in the trash as soon as you have no more money left. They will try and set up a European Super League, even though no fan of any team in Europe wants it, just to suck up the last few cents hiding down the back of your sofa. At the top level most fans have been priced out and the clubs' don't care. A quick google says you can get in to Dodgers Stadium for $18. To get into the Arsenal stadium (my team) $100, which is why I no longer go.

All MLB teams can do what the Dodgers have done, but the owners of other teams don't want to spend the money to build a Super team with the talent that the Dodgers have. Every player wants to be on a winning team. Otanhi is a great example of that. I feel sorry for Mike Trout

In all fairness, the dodgers have a much higher advantage, if we look at the population alone compared to some of the other smaller market cities. There is an Obvious Advantage with Los Angeles, they are located in the 2nd most populated city in the entire United States (second after New York) with over 3.8 million people or over 9.6 million if we count the county of Los Angeles. Smaller cities like Miami home of the Marlins have around 460k people (Oakland very similar). This is a huge difference and not even comparable when it comes to marketing, sales, and attendance profit opportunities It's just not the same. If you think about it if only 15 % of LA were Dodger Fans that would still be more than if 100% of Miami were fans of the Marlins. So the risks for the smaller market teams are extremely high. I am not from Miami but just pointing out the obvious..

Dodgers are so loaded that by the trade deadline they could be on pace to win 120 games and the World Series while also being the biggest sellers at the deadline because of their excess. If they have good luck health wise they could have Gonsolin, May, Frasso, Sheehan, Hurts, Wrobleski and Knack fighting for 1 spot. And having the electric Stone and Ryan returning in 26. There could be a few trades at the deadline like the Busch and Lux trades.
