Enugu State is located in the Southeastern part of Nigeria.
The city derives its name from the various hill and mountains that surround the capital city, hence the literal meaning of the name Enu Ugwu which means the top of the hill.
The state is also known as a coal city because coal was mined from the state during the colonial period. It recorded that the first European settlers arrived in the state in 1909 and by 1914 the first shipment of coal was transported to Britain.
It is also the only state in Nigeria that has popularized its dialing code 042, which has become the city's iconic code name.

One striking thing about Enugu city residents is relaxability. The residents take pride in dressing decently whether they are broke or not. Broke persons are happy and don't worry too much about their brokenness. People are just happier in Enugu city.

Enugu is beautiful, the people look happy. So much history I keep telling people, if your livelihood does not require you to be in a place like Lagos then move. The are beautify cities across the country were people are living decent stress-free lives. Decent quality of life with respectable cost of living. I have seen images of Awhum waterfall online and I would live to visit the it on day. I have always imagined a historical movie being shot there.

Ebonyi state should have named the Airport after Obong Phillip Effiong. He maybe Efik-Ibibio and not a native of Ebonyi but he played an instrumental role in bringing the civil war to an end and also he contributed immensely towards our defense and survival. The Efik-Ibibio as a collective also deserve to be recognized for their contributions and sacrifices regardless of today’s politics. Frank Opigo who I believe is of Ijaw origin should also be honored. General Achuzia and Igbo from Delta state is also another great man that deserves our honor.
