Thank you for this video, Tuula. I wish there was more emphasis on handmade and slow fashion in the US. The customization and unique features of a special piece are much nicer to have than something more disposable.

Yet another lovely video from the lovely Tuula! The yarn you bought is absolutely beautiful! I'm a sucker for anything sparkly ✨️ I must say I admire your restraint by only buying 4 skeins and hooks you actually needed. I have a tendency to lose my mind and buy stuff because I like it, rather than because I need it 🤭 I have been really well behaved since I bought and filled up my first ever freestanding stash shelving unit. I get a lot of satisfaction looking at it and don't feel the itch to buy more yarn at the moment. Let's see how long that lasts 😂🧶

😀I have been like that in the past but especially after making the video where I weighed my stash I realised that I don't need more yarn! And I didn't have time to look around jewellery, that's what I usually buy at fairs.

Back in 1973 my High School English teacher, (even in the US we had to take English for 4 years in High School), was Ragnar Bensen. During an arts week he showed us have to make rya rugs. We only made a small sample. I have not thought about this for ages.

That's interesting! Rya rugs continue to be popular in Finland, there were several stands that sold kits for making them and I actually had planned to show the one I liked most but forgot to include it!

Thank you Tuuma, for sharing this video, this was very nice to see. Where I live there is a farmers market that sells homemade pieces and organic produce. I go a few times during the season, but I’m from the North East part of the country and hate the humidity in the south east where I live now! ❤

Farmers market sounds nice! Humidity can be hard, I find that when I'm in Ireland. Here in Finland, especially in winter time, it's the opposite, too dry.

Oh I wish we still had large craft fairs! Back in the 70’s we did and I would love to see everyone’s work. Now crafts are mixed in with people selling mass produced items and it just doesn’t have the same appeal.😔 Thank you for taking us along! I can’t wait to see what you do with those boards. I have a few in varying sizes but haven’t used them. I am sure you can inspire me!

What a wonderful place to visit. In October Brisbane had a craft convention. From the Fibre Arts stand I bought a crochet pattern for a beautiful Christmas tree and some of their lovely yarn to crochet it with. Since then I haven't had time to make a start but maybe this weekend it might be a good time. It's so lovely, it am looking forward to seeing it on my lounge room sideboard. I love craft shows.

Tuula you should really get back into spinning. I recommend you an e-spinner. It’s cheaper and it won’t take any room, and you’ll be able to travel with it. The EEW6 by dreaming robots is the best option: affordable and reliable. It’s scotch tension. Hugs, Adrien

My mother used to spin - that was horrible colour and uneven. Items looked ugly as well. I would never do that personally

@ let me know if you need any guidance, I can help you! Spinning makes knitting and crocheting a lot more cheaper and it’s awesome to be able to create the exact yarn that you want for the project you have in mind

@@bambinaforever1402 The spinning I have done has been for novelty type yarns, with many colours, often glitter yarns inserted, not meant to even be even. If I was to do it again, that's what it would be.
