Well, this is it. Unless Roberto Durán releases his own master class on in-fighting, this 3-part series will remain the most comprehensive guide about the concepts, techniques, and overall beauty of advanced in-fighting out there.

Thank you man! I tried to make this comprehensive and glad you like it.

Johnny you are the most amazing dude I've never actually met in my life! I learned how to maximize punching power by reading your stuff. Now I'm focusing on footwork. But I must say that whereas lots of gyms teach people to have a good "posture" or "form", they don't teach you about the equally important, but less tangible attributes that you cover all the time. I definitely wouldn't be as good and confident in my overall fighting skills today if not for your expertise!

hi Johnny. I have a non topic related question... you are the person who explains body mechanics the most in depth and with the best metaphers from all who I know. I hope to reach you here since I have no Facebook whatsoever. My question is about a certain aspect of the mechanics while throwing a straight right hand : So I always hear i should start to rotate the hips even before the arm starts extending and let the arm whip out with help of that elastic force gained from the little pre rotation (i know of course that these things are happening in splits of second and we exadurate here to visualize better). Now I feel that I only get minimum telegraphing and get more hits when I visualize the arm shooting out from the very beginning of the movement at the same time with the hips (and not shortly after the felt pre rotation of the hips) kind of how Michael Jay white shows it to Kimbo slice in that video, but with a boxer stance of course.. this way I feel less elastic snap action going on, but there is still my bodyweight behind it and it does have a good smack effect on the heavy bag.. only that tiny extra edge is missing on impact compared to the other method. What do you think about it ? Did u experience anything like your punch being detected when you let your hand follow your body, or do you still have that ability to sometimes even land single right hands without a combination or the opponent being covered up on the ropes. I know almost every other person would tell me to stfu and just train on and let my body get intelligent by experience, but that's why I'm asking you :-) if you find any english mistakes sorry for that

Ok...so there are 2 different ways to visualize the generation of energy. One way is your entire body twitches all at once. The other way is that the energy starts from the foot, to knee, to hip, to shoulder, to hand... (basically bottom to top). And you're asking if going from bottom to top will be more powerful. For me, it is...but it's not because you're trying to move your body one part at a time. It's that everything moves at once but some joints have more articulation than others and so the movement is EXPRESSED visually from bottom to top.

Is this for amateur or pro? In pro you might catch a head butt being that close to their head!!! Great video !!!
@expertboxing7 жыл бұрын
I think it works well for both. And yes, being close will always put you at risk to a headbutt. While you don't have to LIKE fighting on the inside, it's still important that you know how to deal with it when you get put in that situation.

how can you say don't look at your opponent as soon as your eyes come off your opponent you can't see what shots he is going to throw
@expertboxing7 жыл бұрын
At super close range like that, you rely more on rhythm than vision. Not saying that eyes aren't important but if you're fighting that close, you simply have to know how to swim with the punches.
@daneunsworth9087 жыл бұрын
expertboxing there's no excuse to drop your hands in such a dangerous position the best tactic from my experience is tucking up and being cute with head movement working angles digging hard hooks to the body and use the uppercut to break the opponents guard

I've heard that 52 Blocks is a style of boxing that adapted from prison but I want to hear your opinion on if it's can be considered a boxing style.
@expertboxing8 жыл бұрын
Many parts of it do look similar and almost exactly what boxers already do. I don't know if I can call it a boxing style because a lot of it looks like boxing already. It's not even a boxing style, it's BOXING.
