I have chosen to stay at Hotel du Palais Biarritz for my birthday celebration this January. I highly appreciated the room with a breathtaking view. Truly magical. But the birthday dinner we were served at La Rotonde was quit odd. We had dietary restrictions and the chef was informed way upfront. On the day the food that was served made us feel out of place. As if we were unwelcome. More over the day we were checking out while I was in my room waiting for the luggage to be picked up the stuff came and started cleaning up the room right in front of me. Again odd. I never felt so unwanted as a guest. We left and said nothing but surely we won't be coming back. So far personally for us the high bar is being held by hotels like Airelles and Cheval Blanc to which we keep coming back year after year.
