Great analysis ! His process of ‘getting it out quickly’ reminds me of Jackson postulating that his ideas didn’t belong to him- they existed in an untethered state where artists could tap into.

Ok I was with you until you said about the solo album. His solo album was great. Some genius songs on there with great vocals like Made In Heaven and Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow. I think the main thing is he didn’t have much time to work on it because he had to do it in between concert tours so he couldn’t promote it the way it needed. And then look at Barcelona another great album he wrote for Montserrat Caballe what a masterpiece, so different from anything else he had written. No I think you’re very wrong about his solo work. Under appreciated yes but definitely just as great as his work with Queen.

Oh and I forgot Living on My Own from his solo album, which won the Ivor Novello Award for song writing a very prestigious award. No you’re wrong about his solo album.

Those are all valid points Pamela and I appreciate you for pointing that out. I guess the point I made was that while Freddie could most certainly thrive as a solo artist, the magic of Queen was when they all came together and pushed each other collectively further than they could go on their own.
