Thanks bro for this video. This problem is cause by the Chinese people!! They have bigger boats still they will come to our local fishermen and buy all the fish local catch paying double price what the average Gambian can pay. So every finisher man prefer to sell to Chinese than us Gambian who pay normal price
@Iam_africa

We need to control our river imagine we cannot even afford our own fish because Chinese buy all from our local fishermen by paying double price , even though they control also the bigger boats!!! We need to rebel against our see like Somalia did!! We can’t afford to be hungry just because the Chinese need fish

Quit blaming others. It's not the Chinese peoples. Who gives them permission to come with bigger boats? I don't believe they come all the way from China to do that without any permission. I'm not trying to criticize but the thing is it's the same thing in Europe, but here in Europe peoples take actions to prevent others from taking their stuff away. They don't complain but they organize and take what's theirs. For example, why do you need 2000 small boats? Work together, organize and you'll be able to buy fewer and bigger boats together. It's more efficient and you can build up an industry on your own and employ peoples in different supporting jobs. I mean why do you need everybody to fish on their own?

There is always a solution but in this case, we can say it will be very difficult to improve the situation but not impossible The number one step in any solution is addressing the problem itself and you are doing an amazing job to portray to us major trending problems in our motherland from the sources themselves We all urge you to continue this hard work and the more your videos reach the right source's ideas will come together I am optimistic that one day the wind of change will blow towards our motherland and Gambians will wake up from their sleep and cement themselves together and make that success we all yearn for especially we the youths. I will say you are playing your part and we are all behind you.

The solution to change people mindset about faith and work, the our tribes must direct people to invest in there work not just eat from it. The world is harsh, they don't care about people, we should do our best to not be like them and the same time stop them from reach our see. You need now at least not license who harm your people except by share with Gambians. This is uaually the work in KSA.

Outstanding piece of work! We are coming to Gunjur next week to visit the Gunjur Project. I have been reading a lot about the fishmeal factories and the problems with the fishing. I live in Scotland where we have many fish farms that use the fishmeal. I don’t think many of my countrymen understand the high social cost of this industry. 5kg of fish to make 1 kg of fishmeal. 5kg of fishmeal to grow 1 kg of farmed fish. So, 25 kg of Gambian fish to make 1 kg of farmed salmon. It’s unacceptable!

Thank you for inquiring deeper into this social problem - sitting in Europe I’m deeply moved to see the local people who have no benefit from those who fill our fridges with fish for billion’s of US-Dollars, Yuans and Euros into the pockets of probably some very few super rich… how sad… Wished the Gambian Government wasn’t that corrupt to sell fishing rights of their locals to the Chinese Trawlers into gheir own pockets… What a mess, world wide… Stay strong! Once the truth and good will survive!!!

Bro after watching your video, you was saying you didn’t understand what the man meant when he said that ‘the sea 🌊 is old’. What he is trying to tell you is that if you know little about geography, it has taught us that the sea is like a human being and it has three stages. YOUTHFUL STAGE, MIDDLE STAGE AND OLD STAGE. All was saying to you is that part of the sea has reached it’s OLD STAGE in other words in the OLD STAGE he wouldn’t be able to harvest enough fish in that stage. Another example to make you understand better is when it comes to the construction of a DAM, you will have to construct it in the YOUTHFUL STAGE of the sea because it is that part were it generate more energy to be able to supply wider. And to add on to that, when approaching an OLD AGE SEA 🌊 you will come to realize that the sea is calm and you wouldn’t be able hear the sea waves in distance. But when it comes to the YOUTHFUL STAGE OF THE SEA 🌊 from distance you would hear how the is aggressive the waves 🌊 running up and down cause it’s in it’s youthful stage tell you it’s young and fresh.

What chance to the local people and fishermen have if the government are giving big trawlers licenses without having some type of fishery protection to ensure they are fishing in the allowed areas .
@ElimanGibba
@ElimanGibba 2 жыл бұрын
Install Stricter Regulations, Reduce Big Trawler permits/license & or phase them out completely …..they are depleting the resources & robbing the locals as well as making life hard for them . Finally encourage local sustainable fishing methods , price regulation & apply better fishing practices based on data from the Fisheries Department.

Why don't the government regulate our waters, they should not be able to come and overfish in our fisheries. This should be monitored and they should face heavy taxes and fines.

It's frustrating to see the educated young generation not putting what they have learnt to good use, but complaint about unemployment. They refuse to work as a collective and upgrade their skill set to make and create a better modern industrail market. The problem is the Gambians not the Chinese. The Gambians refuse to change, learn and grow. They the locals and Gambians have been fishing before the Chinese came and they have been poor and will continue to be poor because the have not changed their narrative or there mindset. So stop blaming others for their own neglect of there resources.
@deeeasmon4894
@deeeasmon4894 2 жыл бұрын
Again why are the Gambians blaming the Chinese? The Gambians/ local have been sitting on there wealth and not made good use or exploited the market. The locals refuse to change there mindset and narrative and take charge and control of there industry. Why haven't they come/work as a collective buy or hire a trawler and beat the Chinese at there own game, run them out of the waters. If the Gambians invested and ran it as an industry or business the Chinese would be gone. The locals should take charge of there livelyhood and organize better. Again lack of understanding of structures and business acumen.
