Very good video, good community push for the right thing to happen. And if they don’t abide by those rules they should be arrested and their boats need to be sold to some other person that would like to have them at a cheap price. So when you tell them you’re gonna be jail, then deported and then your boat is going to be sold to someone who wants it and that’s going to do right about it I guarantee you they will make a move and do the right thing. That’s the way to be strong Africa. And that’s the way to be strong Gambians and the Gambian Gov Leaders, this makes me proud! Excellent

Well done for highlighting this story. I agree, Gambian Creeks are no place for Chinese wrecked and dilapidated fishing vessels to dock and the government needs to take immediate action to ensure they are removed, promto. They could never even dream of doing this in British waters so why should they be allowed to do so in the Gambia? They show absolutely no respect to Africa. Gambia must protect its fish population and make the Creek a protected Zone.

Hi N yang, I have been watching your Videos for some time and just wanted to say they are some of the most professionally presented KZbin documentaries I have seen on the Gambia , very informative , and the subjects are critical to the economic well-being of the Gambia. As a British Black Caribbean I decided to make the Gambia my home in the very near future after my 4th visit to the Gambia at the beginning 2020.. and hope to meet with you in person on my return. Good morning Mr Njie, thank you for the great video. From my own experience, I've been fishing in Gambia for 15 years, I can confirm that. Fish stocks have decreased significantly in recent years. The fishing trawlers are one of the reasons and illegal net fishing in the mangroves. The mangroves need better protection. That you get a better overview of this wonderful place and the people, you should take a boat with your family and go for a river and fishing trip. Apart from the obvious and main problem -----> CORRUPTION. Another issue here is enforcement. The Gambian coast guard is severly underfunded and lacks the necessary capabilities to be able to tackle these huge boats. There needs to be a properly coordinated marine command unit that is actively patrolling our waters, that way they can enforce the laws. But the powers that be also know that it does not favour them or probably just lack the foresight to understand the far-reaching consequences of their greedy actions. Great job as always Nyang, keep shining the light.

Yes. Their must be boundaries Put in place for foreigners in what is allowed..there acting as if it belongs to them. And not showing any consideration of how it kept up. ..China is polluted. Don’t let them destroy Africa’s agricultural environment

I am a black African American man living in America, it is your Government responsibility to force them to pay fines leave Gambia or lose their license to fish in Gambia. Also this is the way your country can make money, in America if something like this happened there are fines that a person or company that broke the law will have to pay. In America we have what is called the U.S. Coast Guard, and they Patrol the borders patrolling the waters for people selling drugs, or trying to get things illegally into America and the U.S. Coast Guard will do this day and night. The US Coast Guard uses boats, cars, helicopters, or airplanes to protect America's borders. Also foreign ship will carry in their "BALLAST WATER" diseases that can kill the fish and animals in your water. If Gambia cannot make them move then China owns Gambia.

Great. Someone is in The Gambia highlighting this, while the trolls attack repat AAs, Gambians claim your waters. Form a political action committee (PAC) wth some of the 388 million Gambians remit back to The Gambia every year, exert some influence over your government. Just like the non Black foreigners who are stealing your lifeline (fish) are doing. Peace.

These commercial fishing vessels has no place at oyster creek bridge, they threatening our livelihood and the nature at large. Ducking here directly will cover there dubious fishing activities and prevent them from being monitored. In all, i wish they never existed in our waters because our fish is depleting very fast.
