Ive put together this video, showing the devastating impact that the COVID 19 pandemic has had on aviation and Gatwick airport, Walking through the South terminal, check in, departure lounge and gate areas and out on the Airport Ramp with parked up aircraft. (Filmed December 2020 January 2021)

It’s almost surreal to see one of the busiest airports in the world to be literally completely deserted. I just want to get back on a plane again! I’ve felt lost without my rides on planes and visiting busy airports for over a year. 😢

I am so shocked of how deserted the airport was. I mostly fly from Heathrow but I also fly from Gatwick. I love flying on planes.I just want everything to go back to normal 😢😭

I was meant to be there next week for work, but that's been pushed back now for a couple of months. So sad to see this. Great video capturing the airport in it's darkest days. Should defo do one when it gets busy again to do a comparison.

Gatwick is beautiful, fly with them every single time! Gatwick is the best airport out there and so are it’s staff!

I am flying through Gatwick in November. I remember in 2013 when I flew to Miami from LGW , it was such a bustling place . So sad to see an airport in this state

This is heart breaking. I do hope we are turning a corner this year. As a frequent passenger and former staff member of both Serviceair and Britannia Airways in the mid 90’s I have so many fond memories of my time working in and passing through the South terminal. Thinking of all those still affected employment wise. Fingers crossed 🤞

It's hard to see such an airport located in one of the busiest cities in the world empty like this. It seems this place missing its passengers and calling to bring them back soon. However, the aviation industry is much stronger than this pandemic and will recover soon.

brilliant video, It was only the other week I edited a flight out of the South terminal from 2019, really strange seeing it like it is. Do you still need to clear security to enter the airside areas whilst its closed?

It’s sad to see it like that ! Yes so you still need to clear security, they have the staff security open still but only between 06:00-18:00

all I could see was they were adding a Harry Potter shop, but I can’t see the airport spending out on anything major, they have already stopped the working in the north terminal expanding one of the piers
