One big problem is that people don't understand how the "system" works. Changing political parties or MPs/MLAs doesn't do anything. MP MLA r like feudal lords who people beg to get their work done, which ideally is their right. Bureaucratic reforms r a must and people don't pay attention to it. Multiple commissions have been made and they have suggested reforms such as fixed tenures for bureaucrats so that they r not abruptly transferred, streamlining laws and paperwork on a priority basis so that they can do more fieldwork and strengthening anti corruption measures.

Below 2 things will solve the biggest problem. 1. Government should mandate each household to segregate daily waste into 3 separate trash box. One is for kitchen waste, like potato peels, carrot peels, leftover food etc. Don't give this kitchen waste to municipality garbage collector. If you live in your individual house and if you have some space, then start making compost with the kitchen waste. If you live in apartment and you don't have garden area, then try in your balcony. If it is still not possible for you, then give it to municipality garbage collector. 2nd trash box is to collect dry waste like plastic wrapper (which you get in grocery packets), plastic bottles(oil bottle, water bottle etc.), card board (which you get from flip kart, amazon) and other metal can, news paper, electronics waste, battery etc.. If your municipality garbage collector collects dry wastes separately and delivers to recycling industry, then you can give. Otherwise DO NOT give this to municipality garbage collector. Store at home for a month. Then you give all the dry waste to the kabaddiwala. They will be very happy if you give them free. They can earn some money. Lower earning people don't need to segregate from landfill area. 3rd trash box is for used baby diaper and women's used sanitary pads. Women can use menstrual cup in place of sanitary pads. No solution for baby diaper. Those can be given to municipality garbage collector. Now, until government mandate this, start doing this from you. Don't wait for government to do anything. All government bodies are same. Don't think when your favorite political party will form the government, they will make your country heaven. 2.After watching this video, if someone of you are thinking that because of landfill, few people are earning money, then please change your mindset. Landfill area is hell. Don't let those lower earning people to work in the hell to segregate plastics to recycle. They are reducing their life span. They will die in half of their age. If you don't let your home waste to the landfill, then landfill can be significantly reduced. Those people don't need to go there to work. They will find some other work. Nobody will sleep in empty stomach. Let them find some other work to live. My humble request to all of you to follow the above point for the sake of humanity. नीचे दी गई 2 बातें सबसे बड़ी समस्या का समाधान करेंगी। 1. सरकार को हर घर से रोज़ाना के कचरे को 3 अलग-अलग कूड़ेदानों में अलग-अलग करने का आदेश देना चाहिए। एक रसोई के कचरे के लिए है, जैसे आलू के छिलके, गाजर के छिलके, बचा हुआ खाना आदि। इस रसोई के कचरे को नगर पालिका के कूड़ा संग्रहकर्ता को न दें। अगर आप अपने घर में रहते हैं और आपके पास थोड़ी जगह है, तो रसोई के कचरे से खाद बनाना शुरू करें। अगर आप अपार्टमेंट में रहते हैं और आपके पास बगीचा नहीं है, तो अपनी बालकनी में कोशिश करें। अगर यह आपके लिए अभी भी संभव नहीं है, तो इसे नगर पालिका के कूड़ा संग्रहकर्ता को दें। दूसरा कूड़ादान सूखा कचरा इकट्ठा करने के लिए है जैसे प्लास्टिक रैपर (जो आपको किराने के पैकेट में मिलता है), प्लास्टिक की बोतलें (तेल की बोतल, पानी की बोतल आदि), कार्ड बोर्ड (जो आपको फ्लिपकार्ट, अमेज़न से मिलते हैं) और अन्य धातु के डिब्बे, न्यूज़ पेपर, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स कचरा, बैटरी आदि। अगर आपका नगर पालिका का कूड़ा संग्रहकर्ता सूखा कचरा अलग से इकट्ठा करता है और रिसाइकिलिंग उद्योग को देता है, तो आप दे सकते हैं। अन्यथा इसे नगर पालिका के कूड़ा संग्रहकर्ता को न दें। एक महीने तक घर पर रखें। फिर आप सारा सूखा कचरा कबाड़ीवाले को दे दें। अगर आप उन्हें मुफ़्त में देंगे तो वे बहुत खुश होंगे। वे कुछ पैसे कमा सकते हैं। कम आय वाले लोगों को लैंडफ़िल क्षेत्र से कचरा अलग करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। तीसरा कचरा बॉक्स इस्तेमाल किए गए बेबी डायपर और महिलाओं के इस्तेमाल किए गए सैनिटरी पैड के लिए है। महिलाएं सैनिटरी पैड की जगह मासिक धर्म के कप का इस्तेमाल कर सकती हैं। बेबी डायपर के लिए कोई उपाय नहीं है। उन्हें नगर पालिका के कचरा संग्रहकर्ता को दिया जा सकता है। अब, जब तक सरकार इसे अनिवार्य नहीं करती, तब तक आप खुद से ऐसा करना शुरू करें। सरकार के कुछ करने का इंतज़ार न करें। सभी सरकारी संस्थाएँ एक जैसी हैं। यह न सोचें कि जब आपकी पसंदीदा राजनीतिक पार्टी सरकार बनाएगी, तो वे आपके देश को स्वर्ग बना देंगे। 2. इस वीडियो को देखने के बाद, अगर आप में से कोई यह सोच रहा है कि लैंडफ़िल की वजह से कुछ लोग पैसे कमा रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपनी सोच बदल दें। लैंडफ़िल क्षेत्र नरक है। उन कम आय वाले लोगों को प्लास्टिक को अलग करके रीसाइकिल करने के लिए नरक में काम न करने दें। वे अपना जीवनकाल कम कर रहे हैं। वे अपनी आधी उम्र में ही मर जाएँगे। अगर आप अपने घर का कचरा लैंडफिल में नहीं डालेंगे तो लैंडफिल में काफी कमी आ सकती है। उन लोगों को वहां काम करने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी। वे कोई और काम ढूंढ लेंगे। कोई भी व्यक्ति भूखे पेट नहीं सोएगा। उन्हें जीने के लिए कोई और काम ढूंढ लेना चाहिए। मेरा आप सभी से विनम्र निवेदन है कि मानवता के लिए उपरोक्त बातों का पालन करें।

I'm living 2km away from that gazhipur dump in Delhi ncr. The smell is really unbearable, we have to close car windows while traversing the area. I can't imagine how people live there . Despite my locality having relatively clean water, I worry about the potential contamination from the dump. And also when they burn that dump, the toxic fumes exacerbates the already worst pollution level of Delhi . Right now im 19 and i want to relocate to a small town. I'm ready to sacrifice all these amenities for the luxury of breathing clean air without air purifiers, having clean water without ro. Im gonna work my ass off to get out of this hellish place. "The polluted price of progress" - DELHI ,the capital of India.
