This is not a new thing. Across the world, several coal mines accidentally caught fire and are left to burn, they don’t have a way to extinguish. I dunno the logistics of why it is not possible, but with current advancers, it isn’t.

@@kasturim17 that could've been an option but since the scale is too large , there is no way of knowing how many openings it has , also , assuming that even if we cut off the oxygen, the pressure and temperature inside will remain constant, as I think the oxygen within has been burnt out and still the coal is burning within. It's a really great topic to brainstorm about.

Thanks for bringing this up! It's not only Jharia, but whole Dhanbad. Lands and villages have been captured by BCCL, calling it under mining area. BCCL has given signed documents saying they would compensate for the land. It was never settled. My whole village was shifted to a different area.

I am from Dhanbad and this video is the perfect short report for understanding the problems that are faced by the residents of this city. Dhanbad is a developing city but the people who are living in the rural parts of the city are struggling a lot for even basic necessities, most of them are suffering from chronic respiratory diseases with no money to treat themselves. Central and State Government are majorly responsible for the condition of Dhanbad, but none of them have taken any step to protect Dhanbad. The coal companies are making huge profits by destroying the city, illegal mining activities are being done here since a long time, and the authorities are playing a role of spectator, public representatives make false promises in every election and hence nothing changes. Thank you, KK Create for showing the truth of Dhanbad to the rest of the country, we hope it will make some positive changes by waking up both the governments to save the city along with people!

I am from Dhanbad. You should have visited Jharia too. It is one of the biggest market in Dhanbad. Lakhs of people lives above fire. I am a local of this place. It is actually Jharia, a region in Dhanbad(Jharkhand). It has one of the biggest n versatile markets of all over Dhanbad as well as Jharkhand fulfilling every needs from tip to toe of the rich as well as the poor. People living in this area are not ready to leave this place because of their livelihood. Most of the people who are living here, are doing business n own their shops in the Jharia Market. Just wanted to give some solutions to this problem. * Many TATA quarters were evacuated few years ago. So there are many vacant quarters in Lal Bangla,Jamaodba ( nearby jharia n safer than that place) where these people can be shifted for shelter. * The Jharia markets can be shifted to the Jamadoba region. Please do make a documentary suggesting the solutions. Last but not the least I must say ur effort is priceless❤

I am from Hazaribagh jharkhand and my village is also now nothing but a coal mining area as we all sold it to ntpc but yes we got the compensation, and thanks a lot for this ground documentary about our jharkhand!! Well i feel u should also cover the kilas(palace) and all like padma kila which is not under anyone's care and is just vandalized and soon might fall off! I believe it should be preserved and taken care of , it shows the art and culture of this area ..

I'm also from jharkhand and I belong to such one of the place where coal is being mining and at age of around 10 yrs I used to collect the coal and sold it for money and many of us are still doing this work. Many local people are still uneducated and unemployedbl. The condition of people behind the mining places are very bad actually we are displaced from our land. 😢😢

I recommend anyone who has the means to move out from Dhanbad for obvious health reasons. बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद दीदी जो आपने झारखंड के धनबाद जिला के जलते एवं धधकते झरिया एवं इसके आसपास के क्षेत्रों को अपने documentary film के माध्यम से दिखाने का प्रयत्न किया , 100 वर्षो से यह इलाका जल रहा है जिससे प्रदूषण की मात्रा कई गुना बढ़ रहा है ,फिर भी किसी की नजर नहीं । यहां के राज्य सरकार ,केंद्र सरकार एवं कोयले माफिया कोयले को एक गन्ने की तरह चूस रहा है , जबतक पूरे तरीके से खत्म न हो।,झारखंड राज्य लगभग 40 प्रतिशत खनिज संपदा पूरे भारत को प्रदान करता है फिर भी हमारा झारखंड राज्य सबसे पिछड़ा है गुनहगार है तो सिर्फ हमारा राज्य सरकार एवं उसके गलत नीति , आज तक हमारे राज्य में सही तरीके से न तो स्थानीय नीति बन पाई है, और नहीं vishthapan नीति , न नियोजन नीति , न ओधौगिक नीति । जय झारखंड ।

For us Dhanbad is not just a district it's our emotion, it's heartbreaking to see our beautiful city burning like this.We were born and raised in dhanbad,but recently we shifted to giridih. KK if you are planning to visit every district of India then you should also visit Giridih and Koderma. Here illegal mining of manganese is very common and on top of that child labourers are used due to which many children have died but the government isn't doing anything.
