You may be surprised, I've had both cats and rats as pets at the same time, and them living together, growing together, they were always friendly and gentle with each other. But I wouldn't trust any random cat with my pet rat. I also had a friend that had a black labrador, and a white rat, and the rat used to ride on the dogs back, they played together too.

Some animals are predators and some are prey, we humans are just at the top of the food chain and can control this. Also no offense but who was killed for thinking the earth was round? Just to be clear, I'm an indian and I had the same aversion as Drew while watching the video, if not more. When I was a kid in the mid eighties, my family was at Disney waiting in line with my elderly grandma, parents, couple siblings, to go on It's a Small World. All of the sudden a family of people who seemed to be Indian just started barreling through the line. I think everyone in line was basically in shock at the sight. They knocked my grandmother over, onto the ground... to get on It's a Small World... You can't make this up, and as you can tell, it is well burned-into my memory. Social graces are the lubrication of society. In India, they don't use "lube".

Rats make excellent pets when you get them young, they can be trained to come when called. My kids and I had raised them when the kids were younger and I let them sleep in my bed and carried them around on my shoulders and in my hoodie pockets and hoods. They never bit us once they got used to being held and petted, and they really kept themselves very clean 🎉😊❤
