I think its the character of the place? If it was empty with no greenery and well though out decorations, I think it would perhaps feel a lot more depressing. But the design is so well thought out, and the decoration and plants give it a level of character which makes it an awesome home.

I love it when Japanese people give tours of their houses. They explain everything they put there and why they put it there in such detail it really shows how much thought goes into interior design when they furnish their home. Resourcefulness and ingenuity are part of the Japanese charm for me, and most times when they talk about things they made or designed they seem very proud but always humble about it, it puts a smile on my face to see them talk about small passions like ingenuous home design like that, I might even covet their peace of mind.

Thirded! My folks travel in Europe a lot, and they came back with a bunch of interesting ideas that influenced how I renovated my own house. For example, some interior styles place the light switch outside of the room instead of you having to fumble around the doorway to find the switch. My bathroom is set up that way, and while it took a little while to adjust, it is SO much more convenient than fumbling for a switch that I need to click on and off multiple times throughout the day.

We are realizing that it makes no sense for the two of us to have such a large space. We don't plan on selling it, because we know here in the SF Bay Area that housing prices will never drop down to what we purchased it for. $125,000 twenty seven years ago, and now worth $957,000+. We do want to find a smaller place to retire in not limited to the US.

I could see myself living in that space, but not with someone else and I would probably have different items in there because I have different needs for my living space. And a large table, perhaps one that can be extended when it's time to cut fabric or draw large patterns.

I love that the skylights and big windows allow you to have living plants in all parts of the building, not just near the exterior walls. Huge congrats to Okazaki-san for graduating!! I'm always so happy to see her in your videos, she's got such a fun outlook on things that I've really learnt a lot from. Plus, she loves cats like I do!

I honestly really love this... It's amazing to see how "big" some of us countries live... So much empty space. These homes feel lived in, comfortable and just so light.

Aw man I love the vids with Ayaka so much! Her pure joy and enthusiasm always shines through, its so heartwarming 🥲 Much love as always Norm! Thanks so much for showing us the amazing parts and stories of Japan we’d probably never get to see as tourists ❤

This space is very impressive. I love all the little details and how they utilize everything so efficiently. Great to see Okazaki-san as well! Was so awesome that she got to chat with the architect/homeowner! Must have been special

You showcase great spaces and homes for the world to see and always highlight their charm, and Ayaka is always offering such an optimistic perspective of every place you show her.

It’s crazy how they can utilise such small space so effectively and it’s always a pleasure to see Ayaka in these small space videos.

While they definitely do, this is a way more usable amount of space and actually has everything. There are many apartments of this size, even in the US, being split by people (like I did in college). It's even easier if you are sharing a bed.

The sewing machine table might be my favorite bit. Such a precious thing to keep but to make it useful again instead of just taking up space is brilliant. I love this house so much

I think this is an awesome example of form from function! Solid concrete isn't the first thing someone would think of when making a quaint little home, but it is used in fantastic ways!

That is such a beautiful organic-feeling tiny home. While I couldn't live in an environment like that, I can definitely understand the appeal.

This reminds me of when I used to live in a tiny apartment as a child, really comforting, everything was in place, neat and close XD. Also, we need so lil to lead a good and peaceful life~ Thank you for the series ✨ Also, would love to have you in Europe! If you're thinking about Romania, let me know. It would be my pleasure to show you around~
