I think it’s called a spring house, Jordan. Kinda like a refrigerator in the old days. But they had one like that at the home of Washington Irving when I went there in New York. It probably had a floor and some doors on it to get to the cooler places to store food, from the looks of it. It should be restored. They probably got rid of the outhouse after indoor plumbing came along. Hope you got to see the nearby farm and the lake too. Lots of great restaurants in the area. It’s really a beautiful place to live now that I moved away!

It's amazing that you have an appreciation for Jim's music since you weren't even born when he was with us. I have great memories of my younger brother and I listening to his songs over and over. It's the first album I ever bought. I still love and appreciate his gift to the world.

Thanks Jordan & Jah for the grand tour where Jim Croce drew his inspiration for his songs. I see that the backroads of Pennsylvania are still as green as when we drove through those roads in 1985 on our way to Upstate NY. Glad the new owners are taking the task in salvaging this landmark in remembrance of one of the most prolific songwriters of all time❣️❤️🙏🏻Great to see you and the Jahster still going strong! 👍⭐️🌲

Great coverage Jordan you are always very kind & gracious. I was at his restaurant Croce's in San Diego maybe 15 yrs ago. We met his widow Ingrid who ran it. All of Jim's memorabilia hung on the wall. His passing was very sad he was such a talented guy taken way too soon.

I only found out about Jim Croc from a biography on KZbin. He was famous before I was born What a beautiful place to have lived in. Maybe it’s because I’m a romantic at heart, but it does seem a really gorgeous, romantic place for Jim and his wife. It’s sad that Jim’s son was abused by his step father. I’m afraid my opinion of Ingrid is very low. I’d rather be on my own than someone mess with my child. It’s a beautiful place to stay, I hope they really do well. I’d be in that antiques place in a second. I do hope they plan to rebuild that little out house back to new. It’s too important for it to fall down Thank you Jordan and Jai ❤

I've seen some moving interviews with Ingrid and AJ on KZbin. AJ loved the Bad, Bad Leroy Brown cartoon from a the Sonny and Cher Show. My favorite song by Jim is a very short album cut called Photograghs and Memories. An interview said he did his demos in the Kitchen on a Wallensak tape recorder. Edit, AJ said Jim recorded conversations with literally everyone who came to the house, and those reel to reel tapes were how he got to know his Dad. God love the Croce's!

WOW! Great video, Jordan! One of my new favorites!👍❤️ Bless Jim’s heart! He was SUCH a humble guy! They were literally penniless while here! He was such a hard working man, and one of the most talented human beings this planet has ever had around! It was only after his death did people begin to know who he was. When he would do concerts, they were very small and only a few hundred in attendance. He finally started catching on, maybe after going to San Diego, but until then, sadly, he was just simply not known at all!😢 Thank you for doing this video, Jordan! I love his music, too, and this makes it even more precious to me.👍❤️💋🙏 Simply the BEST! We LO❤️E & MISS you, Jim! R.I.P. 🌺

Grew up just down the road and toured the property in 2013 shortly after the new owner bought it the outhouse was in bad shape but the roof intact at the time,,,,,,,,,,the owner had no idea about the history here until he caught fans repeatedly trespassing,,,,,,,,, I contacted him from an apt rental sign on the front yard he was happy to show us around,,,,,,,,the apt for rent was Jims also just behind the bench at that time were the remains of a stone barn or house I was able to match photos of Jim standing in a window there sooo cool ,,,,,,, his apt in Coatesville is very private and on a farm about 1/4 mile off of Pratts Dam Road not accessable i Know the local florist who delivered flowers to Ingrid there. about a mile down the road on Rt 82 and Monacy Road is the radio station that first played You Dont Mess around with Jim WCOJ (now a catholic station) The Morning DJ who broke the song (Art Marple) is buried at the Grove Methodost Church in Whitford Jim is buried at Hyam Solomon Cem in Frazier Pa.

Thank you Jordan for this visit. Artist hallowed ground for me. I'd just returned from Vietnam as a U.S. Marine a couple years before when I came across Jim's first album and with Jim's ruggedly manly face on the album cover, I purchased the album. What the hell, $1.98 ($13.92 now 2022) clearance sale what was to lose? I listened and knew immediately this guy's music was for me. I soon saw the same album was selling at over $5.00 retail before long. I swear I almost cried when I received word he'd been killed. Later when I read his little son had been brutalized I all but lost it. Child beaters and molesters are number one on my hate list. I recall trying to find out this monster's name and residence to provide the justice that he deserves. Regardless, on a happier trail, I wish Ingrid and his son the joy and comfort Jim held in his heart for them and for Jim, a RIP for all the memories of my youth. Again, thank you Jordan.

Thank you for sharing this video. I remember hearing several of his songs on the radio. Especially "Time in a Bottle". I have that album, from when I was barely a teenager. I believe as soon as Jim really started to make it big, unfortunately and like several other Artist it seemed just as they made it to the top. They were taken away from Us, usually back then in airplane crashes. I can only imagine how many other hit songs he would of written and recorded. In my opinion he was definitely taken way to soon. In my opinion Jim and several other Artists, seemed to have a difficult time back then. Being on the road, traveling by buses to get from one Venue to another. To reach their fans. Many of the Artists back then, didn't take their Family on the road with them. I could be wrong, it seems so many Artists wrote their really heartbreaking music, during the time they were traveling, and became very lonely. Especially during the time Jim really started to become famous. It was around the end of the Vietnam War. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts, and for sharing this video, and remind Us about that era. Stay safe. GOD Bless.

I like your ideas and what you are portraying in your videos, giving us a glimpse of artists we have loved. I just want to say, I don't think it's at all natural that so many of them have died in mysterious ways. Think:Music Machine, and who ended up making a lot of money after they died. Sadly, I think he was absolutely right to be disillusioned and even disgusted by how they were using him.

I don’t I know it’s weird but I don’t think he left there. I’m hurt for his son that someone would abuse his son to that type of extent. I hope not to offend I liked the vlog just something about that farm. My girls were born in the 90’s but they saw something about a movie with wolverine and they were raving about this song and all they talked about was lyrics they heard time in a bottle so it was great to introduce them to Jim Croce. They also looked at a PBS special on Nilsson and loved it. I love the way they are interested. Thx again! Love to Jah!

Fantastic ! While Fly fishing in Pennsylvania several years ago, I drove out to visit the Farmhouse, but of course could get no closer than the street. I would surely like to stay at the AirBnB. I really enjoyed the tour of the property and Jim & Ingrid's apartment. I was living in Louisiana and remember the night I heard the announcement, on AM Radio, that Jim Croce, Maury, and others were killed in a plane crash in Natchitoches La. I was 13 years old and already a Fan of Jim Croce's music. Many years later, when on a business trip to San Diego, I dined at "Croce's"...the restaurant Ingrid owned and operated in the Gas Lamp Quarter.

This is very cool! I did not even know this existed. I was born in the 70's, but after Jim died. My parents used to play his records in our house all of the time, and that's how I developed a true love for his music. I'm curious to know how you came upon Jim's music, Jordan? Considering how you young you are?

Thanks for this vlog. I've seen the original and a big Croce fan. How could they not put a board so people can sit where he & his wife sat. Maybe one day. Hard to say which is a favorite but "NEW YORK'S NOT MY HOME" is a good song. Thanks again

Can’t imagine hurting a child. But wouldn’t you think a man would think I’m going to make Jim Croce proud raising his child. Geesh sad😢

I went to Ingrid's book signing not from the old farm house in Chester County, so as I was getting my book signed by Ingrid she told me about her San Diego Restaurant in the grand light district, I told her my girlfriend & I go there for our summer vacation vacation she signed my book and AND COME VISIT ME IN SAN DIEGO, so before I went we went to the old FARM and took many pictures then I August we traveled to San Diego and stop in the Restaurant had dinner and went to the Jazz Bar and sure enough there was Ingrid with her Friends, I just gave Ingrid a little wave and she came over I even had the book with me and showed her what she wrote about coming to her Restaurant and she remembered me because I'm from Jim's home town of UpperDarby and lived only a few miles from Jim's home, we used to ride our bikes by his house to tried to see him, but never did 😅but anyway as were talking a showed her the pictures of the farm house she was FLOORED and said can I show them to my friends ,so her friends came over and Ingrid and her friends were really thrilled what a great night we had,I even stood in the Outhouse like Jim did and took a picture 😊

Awesome video Jordan! Wow that must be amazing to stay there. My favorite Jim Croce song is Lover’s Cross too. You’re the first person I’ve ever heard mention that song! Thanks for this. Keep Jim’s memory alive.

“Operator” has always been one of my dad’s favorite songs. He was hospitalized in 2020, and we couldn’t be with him because of the COVID restrictions, so I played that song all week until he was cleared to come home. It makes me tear up every time I hear it.

Sometime back in the 90s i went to a concert in Washington State at the Gorge Amphitheater. On the bill were Rod Stewart, Santana, Jeff Beck and AJ Croce. I was a fan of Jim's as well. Great to see this. Thanks Jordan.
