I love reading comments coming from people that are shocked by this apartment. Some say that the apartment is like a flea market, others say that it is junky. If you were, by any case, living in Europe (or European) (I'd say mostly France or Italy) this style is a definition of real class - when you can make a chaos look good. That's exactly what Kate did. The apartment doesn't look cheap, it breathes and exhales art and cosiness. Amazing and great! I love the fact that there is not a TV in the room. Great, just great!

Hearing of Kate's passing, and then seeing this video, shows that looks can be deceiving. She looked happy, fulfilled, successful, and like she had the world at her fingertips. I could watch this again and again - I love it. She's a wife and Mom and that really comes through. I've hung up and taped up my daughters' artwork, so it was fun to see that Kate has, as well. Elegant, sophisticated, and very personal. So refreshing to see that it's not the typical impersonal, overly-chic and boring celebrity's home. I'm impressed!

This for anyone who's had someone in their lives lead them down a dark path. People close to you can lead you to suicide. If you're in a relationship where someone takes advantage of your vulnerabilities to make you feel powerless get out!! Doesn't matter if it's your mother, if you stick around they will drain your energy and reduce your self worth until you can't ask for help when you need it. Don't succumb to societal pressure to maintain bad relationships, stay away from toxic people. We spend too much time trying to insulate ourselves from getting hurt instead of calling out the psychopaths who hurt us and kicking them out of our lives. My Uncle took his life due to depression. People need to stop focusing on she had everything she should be happy. Desperation is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

All quirky and fun stuff on the periphery and then smack dab in the middle of the room is a big black hole. Infact, the first thing we notice when she opens and closes the main door is a big black hole. No wonder her designs are so light and clean. When you can't control the darkness inside, you usually try to fix it on the outside. Even the black hole at first looks like a simple, non complicated piece before you realize how its right in the centre.

I thought about her, today as soon it’s going to be two years that she’s gone already. I think her interior reflects everything from her and him and there’s nothing wrong with having something that might seem sad to some. this breaks my heart. I am so sorry for her family and friends. I just read, her and Andy had marriage issues during their 24 yrs together and that they were already apart. .I have a feeling her depression was due to their marriage problems PS..I hope their daughter is OK I hope her daughter grows to know how loved and miss her mom was

Definitely was. She put up with his excessive drinking & cheating for years on end! That, and unaddressed PSTD from her childhood. Family shame and ignorance prevented her from getting the appropriate help. She had an "image" to uphold (in her and her family's mind). Sad, as she really loved him... more than she should have!

Beautiful home and art collection! The black round painting or "black hole" negative commenters keep referring to I think has nothing to do with her depression. It was a chic modern abstract focal piece. Kinda fab actually and the first thing I noticed. Juxtaposed quite nicely above the antique fireplace. She was a design genius. Her home was warm, artistic, eclectic and a beautiful mix of modern and antique like some of the best European homes. I lover her salon style of hanging art. We will never really know what happened. But yes clearly she was heart broken and distraught from the breakup of her marriage. May she rest in peace.

I liked Kate looked like me. She is so relatable. She has allowed herself to age and mixed and curated family and art. I'm fortunate enough to marry an artist. We are middle class. We curated a similar look by trading with artists, me with a keen eye for dumpster diving.

Yes maybe she does have a lot of things in her apartment a total cluttered space but I try to turn this in a positive way. Every true artist who enjoy designing new things and have passion for it always put there love in to it designing it and especially there time as she does I think she make a very sophisticated and elegant piece of art and always make us happy with it.
