I love reading comments coming from people that are shocked by this apartment. Some say that the apartment is like a flea market, others say that it is junky. If you were, by any case, living in Europe (or European) (I'd say mostly France or Italy) this style is a definition of real class - when you can make a chaos look good. That's exactly what Kate did. The apartment doesn't look cheap, it breathes and exhales art and cosiness. Amazing and great! I love the fact that there is not a TV in the room. Great, just great!

If you're in a relationship where someone takes advantage of your vulnerabilities to make you feel powerless get out!! Doesn't matter if it's your mother, if you stick around they will drain your energy and reduce your self worth until you can't ask for help when you need it. Don't succumb to societal pressure to maintain bad relationships, stay away from toxic people. I think her interior reflects everything from her and him and there’s nothing wrong with having something that might seem sad to some. All quirky and fun stuff on the periphery and then smack dab in the middle of the room is a big black hole. Infact, the first thing we notice when she opens and closes the main door is a big black hole. No wonder her designs are so light and clean. When you can't control the darkness inside, you usually try to fix it on the outside. Even the black hole at first looks like a simple, non complicated piece before you realize how its right in the centre.

I liked Kate looked like me. She is so relatable. She has allowed herself to age and mixed and curated family and art. I'm fortunate enough to marry an artist. We are middle class. We curated a similar look by trading with artists, me with a keen eye for dumpster diving.

Beautiful home and art collection! The black round painting or "black hole" negative commenters keep referring to I think has nothing to do with her depression. It was a chic modern abstract focal piece. Kinda fab actually and the first thing I noticed. Juxtaposed quite nicely above the antique fireplace. She was a design genius. Her home was warm, artistic, eclectic and a beautiful mix of modern and antique like some of the best European homes. I lover her salon style of hanging art. We will never really know what happened. But yes clearly she was heart broken and distraught from the breakup of her marriage. May she rest in peace.
