I was driving to LA from Santa Monica, stopped at a red light and Dean Martin stopped at the side of me to turn into Beverly Hills. I was in my early twenties at the time. He was a good-looking gentleman. He looked at me and smiled. A wonderful memory.

The place had fallen into a state of disrepair for a number of years. I'm glad to see that it has been restored. Trivia: I'm not sure how many people are aware of it but Dean Martin's daughter Gina married Carl Wilson from the Beach Boys. Carl had two sons from his prior marriage and one of them bought a similar "Alexander" style home just a few doors down from this place and had it renovated. He referred to Jeanne Martin as "grandma." She was still living in this home at the time.

Yep. The Wilson, Martin, and Hinsche families are intertwined. Billy Hinsche was in Dino, Desi, and Billy with Dean Paul Martin. His sister Annie was Carl’ first wife. Rocco Martin also played with CW and the BBs.

This video has merged two different houses into one. The vacant Martin house at 1:46 is 1123 Via Monte Vista and their friends house (for sale 1.8 million) at 1:55 is 447 West Mariscal Rd. Confusing to say the least. The white piano was a gift from the Martins to their friend.

Another channel has a couple of videos on this house. One from 3 years ago where it looked doubtful that it could be saved. What a great restoration job they did on it. A lot of modern upgrades but it still has that mid century feel to it. 1.8 million seems reasonable, we'll see.

I sold a tear down in Vancouver for one million American about five years ago so one point eight for that place in that area seems like a bargain to me even if it did need complete renovation. Bet you couldn’t buy it now for anything near that.

I visited Palm Springs a lot I was a Corporate Pilot and went there often. I went to see Franks Home at least twice but sadly never Dean Martins. A regret I have to take with me. Franks Home was really very nice. I went out to the pool and wondered how much FUN they had here. Still Do. Those had to be a Great Time in America

The last time I saw this house it looked like a dump. Ready for the demolition ball. Even though the site looked a disaster, its historical vintage made the asking price prohibitive to all but those with an Musk disposable income. Dean had several homes in Palm Springs. This is not the one that fell into disrepair. The one is the video is on Mariscal Road. The one that had fallen into disrepair is on Via Monte Vista.

Not sure how accurate this video is. Other videos from not so very long ago show another story, of a still-abandoned rather run-down former star's (Dean's) house. Another comment, in this section, claims that this residence seems to be two properties (the other close by) as the 'same' residence. I wonder, but don't know. So, whatever has happened by now, this home did sit empty for quite a long time. Yet all this aside, Dean Martin was a great singer and performer....an American entertainment legend. Blessings Dean.

The "tea dance house" Was NOT owned or LIVED IN by Dean Martin. It belonged to friends he and his wife Jeanne would often visit when in Palm Springs. The house in the video which looks somewhat unkept IS the Martin home where they LIVED when in Palm Springs and was given to his wife after their divorce in 1973.

It makes me so sad how all his smoking truly caused so many complications for Dean in the at the end of his life. Too think he had it all one time and then it’s gone and it has come it a close. As it as for so many of those Hollywood. I loved the variety show with Dean Martin and all his dancers as a little girl I was one of the dancers and my Dad was Dean Martin 😂 That’s how much I loved him and when he and Jerry Lewis did movies together and of course the Rat Pack. It’s sad that there will never be another time like that.

Yes LA is far away from PS . I used to work for Dean Paul and his wife Dorthy Hamill and I used to see Dean at the Rivera Country Club every day .Dean had a parking space near the front door with his name painted on the pavement ,no one else had that as far as I could see. No one was the same after Dean Paul`s death at such a young age.Ronald Reagan helped Dino get to be a pilot . Dino was cited as a teen for having an illegal weapon and I think Gov Reagan helped him out of that one . Dino played tennis at SMC sometimes and could have any woman he wanted just from his looks alone IMO .BTW the house is cool too.

I live halfway between them. Takes me an hour to drive to PS. It’s nicer now than it was in the 1980’s. It’s gotten pricey given that there’s no industry but restaurants and hotels. Probably the best mid century modern area in the country.
