@@Paiadakine Thats because you are responsible and play by the rules. These assholes have nothing, so they have nothing to loose. They should be rounded up and put in a fenced encampment in the desert. The billions of dollars being put into the "homeless" problem is a joke. Lot's of people getting rich on that one. They will never be an asset to society. I'm so done with the feel good woke BS.

@@midlifemotox I just read Calif allocated $10B for the homeless problem these last three years. Not sure how much was state and how much was fed money but it’s all taxes we paid. I sure can’t see where that money went. What a waste.

@@Paiadakine I'm going to do the math. What is the homeless population vs how many Billions of dollars are being spent. You could probably make each homeless person a millionaire at this rate. If you made a dollar a second,, it takes 12 days to make a million. To make a billion it takes 32 years. People don't conceive how much money that actually is. I drive down the streets in Burbank and it's all good. As soon as I cross into North Hollywood, it like the zombie land. Los Angeles county politicians are useless... I really never cared until now...

the council member of that district is simply bluffing. She has done nothing to house these people. She is simply collecting a big fat paycheck, benefits and a huge pension for her. It is terrible. I applaud that couple for doing such a great sacrifice to help these people who are meth addicts, drug addicts, alcoholics etc.. They will not succeed but the fact that they are trying is simply amazing.

Its called pass new laws when it comes to RV ownership- enforce a yearly inspection - no inspection sticker/ not allowed on the street = towed - RV can't be parked no less than 50ft from fire hydrant - If it catches fire the OWNER is responsible of have it being removed/towed within 8 hours-( financial lien) Then to get it through the homeless heads every Monday n Friday - bobcat right down the sidewalk throwing away anything in it's path - ITS PUBLIC PROERTY all citizens get to have access - NO blocking the sidewalk.

The folks in SoCal just don't get it, they can't see the forest for the trees. Every effort made to " help " the homeless only serves to promote homelessness. Sure, it's a tough fact to acknowledge, but subsidizing that behavior does nothing to discourage it. This problem didn't occur overnight, and the various " programs " laid out by City, County, and State officials have only made things worse. Isn't it time to consider a change of approach?

Sad but true. I'm paying $400/mo to rent one of these RVs from some guy I found on Facebook marketplace because I couldn't find anything else affordable. There's no electricity or running water. It's dark and cold at night. I work. I'm not on drugs. I'm not mentally ill. I've just have a lot of bad luck and debt and car problems since covid. I can't afford to rent proper housing at these current prices. Plus I have an eviction on my record from after when my mom died of cancer. I've spoken with cops and housing program workers but nobody can seem to help. No housing is available except for shelters, which I can't do. I have cats and work late and need my privacy. What's the solution for us? I'm already doing everything I can, and I can't afford to move. I recently tried getting a janitorial job to get back onto my feet, but then I got fired over too many homelessness related problems, ironically. Now I'm back to doing Uber/Lyft/Instacart until my car breaks again. Passengers with luggage hate getting me as their driver. My car is filled with important personal belongings that I can't keep in the RV because they aren't safe there. I don't know what I'm going to do once my car breaks again. The car is a lemon. I already put my dad over $3k into debt for the last transmission rebuild. In addition to over a year's worth in missed car payments, since I fell into homelessness. He can't help me again. I haven't even paid him back for last time yet. I just feel like giving up on society and turning to crime. Why do I even bother anymore? Nobody cares anyway. I'm sick of begging and suffering everyday and getting nowhere.

With average 1 bedroom rents going over $2K/month what do you expect. Solving the problem is not 'challenging' its bureaucratic and corpo greed. There are plenty of abandoned malls, buildings, etc that can be converted to solve a lot of this homelessness instead of rotting and becoming an eyesore but it costs money, the politicians have no problems throwing 100s of millions around or sending Billions overseas they just WONT spend it helping their own country first

The city and the local governments have allowed to stay are responsible for the whole thing. You cannot expect crazy people to live like civilized people, and you cannot expect people who are totally on drugs to not act this way if you don’t police and control the situation. This is what you have and it’s going to get worse and worse until somebody does something. I don’t think voting Karen bass in was a good idea and it isn’t the business owners and landlords job to take care of all of this. I discovered this place by accident a few years ago. I was driving home from work and WAZE gave me an alert of an accident on the 405 and told me to take the next exist. I found myself in an area by the Goodyear Blimp and the Porsche road test. I followed Broadway Blvd and for miles, it was solid, broken down RV's.

He can't help me again. I haven't even paid him back for last time yet. Unfortunately, all of these people with different stories are grouped together. Veterans should first to be helped, followed by families with small children. Any drug or alcohol addict refusing to clean up needs to he locked up away from their vice until such time they are no longer dependent on it and can begin rehab. All of these things and more would require insane resources. To justify locking addicts up and forcing them to get clean you would need to criminalize addiction, which according to many is a disease.
