Jain Kim was the first climber whose movements I tried to emulate (I've been climbing for 3.5 years). She keeps her back and arms so straight, and powers up from her core and legs. And she does it so fluidly and gracefully. I love to watch her climb.

For me Jain Kim is the most elegant climber in the world. If lead climbing were a distinct event in the Olympics then surely she would be favourite to win? I appreciate that Janja Garnbret is also super-strong however.

It's interesting how she doesn't really bulk up. Yet she's super strong. Someone who's never climbed would be fooled thinking this thing is so easy. In fact most people would be pumped hanging from that wall after 20 seconds. She's just chilling all over the place like it's nothing.

제가 한국와서 처음으로 갔던 암장.. 한번 밖에 못가봤는데 문 닫았다고 들어서 너무 아쉬웠어요 ㅠ Climbing has been continyally gaining popularity in Korea, but none of the ones I've been to have both the cozy vibe as well as the boulder setting for strong climbers. Really wish I had been able to go more..

I think the pressure to qualify for the Olympics has been a lot for all Korean professionals. So they are kinda torn about the last spot and competing against each other. It’s too bad the format is what it is and it won’t be changed till at least another 4 years.

@@BeefyBoulders yeah it sucks. I hate that they combined all disciplines and all climbers are forced to get into speed climbing. That's just a whole different sport and I'm sure most lead climbers must be disgusted to have to go through this training. Taking the fun out of climbing for them for sure.
