It is really amazing to see a character that does not care anymore. He has the power to rebuild the universe and fuse to timelines and he does it. He just thinks that Earth is his playground and his limitless powers are his toys.

Originally a nuclear physicist named Dr. Jonathan Osterman, accidental exposure to an Intrinsic Field Subtractor resulted in his reconstruction into Doctor Manhattan, the only super-powered character in the 1986 storyline. But his story arc wasn't left there; most recently, a shocking reveal of DC Universe: Rebirth revealed Manhattan to be the architect of that specific universe. In DC Universe Rebirth #1, Manhattan was revealed as being the creator of the New 52 universe. All the while, he killed anyone who may have been about to uncover his presence. The theory notes that in Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, Krona - an extraterrestrial scientist - created a machine to observe the origin of the universe. Shortly before the machine was destroyed, he noticed a cluster of stars held in a giant blue hand. A hand that could belong to Manhattan. It's just good old Philip Glass. Zimmer (in Interstellar and several other films) was no doubt influenced by his music and uses a similar ambient texture (but not compositional style) to emulate this. Good on you for picking up those vibes though.

Cualquier personaje de Watchmen tiene una psicología increíble, pero la profundidad de Manhattan te deja a veces roto, y en la película me parece que Billy Crudup le interpreta magníficamente y Zack Snyder supo darle el aire que necesitaba. This is more than just a character in an entertaining movie. This is the face of true omnipotence, what it's like, and how it interacts with the world. Fascinating. Also interesting: as a young boy he had to focus on making clocks with deadly precision, which inspired him to become a scientist. Then he accidentally gained omnipotence, and only then did he learn humanity. Obviously a warning for what truth-hunting can do without a little humanity to humble that truth. It's been a while since I read the story, so I don't know how consistent this is with the story.
