Bubble wrap, yes yes yes. Buy boxes. One other trick I use is to use the plastic bags from the grocery store to fill in the sides for padding. They are free at my Walmart where people bring them in to recycle or your family, friends, and neighbors will save them for you...

Great idea! I Did not think of that but that is great way to save some money on shipping.

I don't normally tape around the bubble wrap if you can help it, the tape can sometime stick onto the lego if the wrapping moves, then damage the lego box....

True! Something to consider. Thanks for the feedback Matt.

Not to be picky, but there was a USPS priority option for $8.27 with $100 coverage shown at 7:25 in your video. Only $0.13 cheaper. USPS priority will probably get delivered in 2-3 days where UPS ground might be a week for delivery.

Good catch Glenn! Even with a lower cost, I typically find that UPS ships much faster and more reliably. If it’s a significantly lower cost then I sometimes will do USPS.
@glennbrown27042 жыл бұрын
@@TheBrickQuest Not a noticeable price difference, so the service that is more reliable is a good choice. I usually go with USPS since I have a post office 2 minutes from my office. This post office is always great at scanning packages left at the front desk, so I don't have to wait in line.

@@TheBrickQuestI appreciate that. USPS can give me a lot of issues sometimes. Sent legos to Puerto Rico instead of Florida one time for me loll

Hi im new to this selling, so my question is you seem to only know the price of shipping after you've sold the item, so how do you know what to charge the customer if you only know once you imput the weight and dimensions of box after i assume the sale has been made. Thanks in advance
@TheBrickQuest3 ай бұрын
So you can kind of guesstimate the price before hand but it’s also hard to know where the buyer is going to be located which can raise the price. Typically the value of the set is the value of the set so just charge the most you can and try to cover shipping as best as possible. It’s a deep topic but hope this helps a bit. I only ship in the US.

Having extra bubble wrap is no “problem” why cut it off itd just make it safer. To each their own tho. Good video and as long as the package is safe and secure the process doesnt really matter.

Depending on the angle of the bubble wrap, the tap won’t stick as well

How much do you charge for shipping? Say you’re only setting something for $50 the shipping will be a pretty good percentage of that
@reggiem166810 ай бұрын
Just my experience but the worst damage I’ve seen on packages of Lego I’ve purchased were shipped with UPS! Granted they were not packed the greatest but evidently not handled with kid gloves so going overboard on box size and wrapping in bubble wrap is a good idea!!

I love this video! Thank you! So many content creators won’t take the time to do this for us beginners. Question: do you drop of at UPS physically or do you schedule a pickup? Would love to know how you do that.
@TheBrickQuest2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steve! I typically build up a load of shipment sets and then will typically just do a drop off. The location is close to me so I guess it also depends on how far you would need to drive.

That looks really good. With the collectable sets (in-box) buyers, I used the 'box-in-box' method.

--Maybe Australian post cost is different.... I always cut down the boxes as small as possible... We get screwed on weight AND square meterige. Cost goes way up on a few grams and size . . . -( I don't understand how some Ebayers send with free shipping and still make a profit)

Sorry to hear that. I am not overly familiar with the Australian post but hopefully better options will come around in the future.

@@TheBrickQuest .. Thanks, I'm learning slowly. Aust post offers disscounts for a lot of shipping (per month) but even then there must be a lot of seller selling at a loss rn. It's a meme almost, that everything costs more in Australia btw. (aka "the Aust tax")

Why did you ship UPS? It was as if the video you were showing was using audio from another video. Ebay was explicitly showing you that USPS offered you faster delivery (by a whopping 2 days), was cheaper, and with $100 insurance. USPS won out in every category (which is typical for like the last 8 years). USPS also seems to do a better job at handling packages. It could be because the USPS people are neighborhood regulars. It's interesting how so many other people use UPS for their Ebay sales when USPS objectively better for most LEGO reselling scenarios.
@TheBrickQuest2 жыл бұрын
Good question!. UPS was $.20 more expensive but came with $100 insurance whereas USPS did not have any coverage included. USPS was also showing A similar to later delivery than UPS. Regardless I have found that UPS always does a much better job of handling the packages and always gets there a lot sooner than expected. I only try to use USPS if they are a lot cheaper than the other carriers. Mostly for smaller packages.

Great little tips, love the vid. Quick question, what would you do in this situation. Ordered a buba fett helmet on Amazon for a great price,$45 but only problem is they sent it in a bag so of course the box got crushed. Would you return it or just chance selling at a discount?
@TheBrickQuest2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I would ask them for a replacement if possible. The damage to the box could very well destroy the $15 savings that you got when you go to resell the item in the future.

Just make sure whatever you invest in that you are getting a good discount on the product and that it is a popular product. That way you maximize your profit on eBay and people are ready to buy.

Why cut the bubble wrap? Seems like such a waste. Just leave it! "Extra bubble wrap is no problem" so best to leave it.

Your probably right Zaria. I just cut it to keep the packaging neat. But it probably would have been just that much more protected with extra bubble wrap.
