Yes yes yes! I am a graphic designer and I love when other creatives show their communication process to their clients. A presentation deck explaining your process and reasoning behind the choices you made is one of the most helpful skills you can have in the creative industry. I didn't get to learn this till I was already in university, so I am happy when creatives on YT and other social media show this sort of stuff ❤️

I actually learned the importance of this after uni at my first design job, so you're ahead of me!!! Of course we created pitches at uni, but I didn't understand how important it would be!

I hope to not sound stupid and to fully be able to express what I mean, but I really wanted to thank you because I can always find, as you said, that feeling of watching a sunset that you can never capture on camera, when I watch your vlogs. I tend to see my days as filled with gloomy clouds and heavy rains, but your art and the way you go about life are so utterly comforting to me, they really fill me with the will to explore, live and have fun with people I love, even if somethimes things can be hard. I wish all the most colourful and joyous best for you, love from Italy 💚🍎

I'd love to see more videos of your client work processes, especially as separate videos. I've been freelancing on the side during school and deeply considering expanding once I graduate, but seeing real client work and processes is so much more helpful than hypotheticals. Since it's not a position you go into work and learn and share the process, tips, and ideas with co-workers, your videos can help fill that gap.

I have a ton of ideas. I would love to see more clothing creations from you. I think you could design some really cute kids clothes and baby items that connect with your books. So adorable! Next I would like to see more murals but maybe you could find a large company willing to create fun wallpaper or murals for homes. They are beautiful and just the kind of magic children need today. My number one idea is writing more books. Every picture feels like a bigger story. I am sure everyone here would just be in love with the process and watching you grow. I would love to know how much time you spend on your initial ideas for the client and then how long you spend on the final artwork. Do you always provide initial sketches or do you just use mood boards sometimes? When you edit your process for KZbin, you make it look so quick and easy; it's very intimidating! #answermepeach
@furrylittlepeach2 жыл бұрын
it can be quick sometimes, especially because the layout is already there for past project - just a matter of dropping in files and writing up copy. But the whole preproduction process (looking at brief, brainstorm, sketches, decks, refined sketches, approval) can take some time, some of which relies on the client too! Note: my vlogs aren't in real time, I include the aprts that tell the story and are interesting to watch so don't be worried if it feels so much faster. It probably isn't!

What do you do when clients ask to combine all the ideas of all the thumbnails together? I feel that clients want "the most bang for their buck" so they want too many ideas/ too many colors so it gets lost? Do you tell the client or do you just try to make it work? #answermepeach Thanks!
@furrylittlepeach2 жыл бұрын
We try not to do that. In this case the deliverables were 5xfinal artworks, so there is only one sketch for each artwork. If I provide 2 or 3 ideas for a project and the client likes different aspects of each, I may pull in small details or try to address what they like about that in the next stage of the process. I also push back on anything that I think hinders the final artwork. But in the end, our job is to create artwork that the client also likes and meets their needs. You can make recommendations to them though!
