In the middle of a world that is seemingly falling apart comes this video to remind us all that there is normalcy and beauty around us. This was one of the most enjoyable videos I have seen in quite a while. I was born and raised in NYC and lived the first 34 of my 68 years in the New York area but curiously never went to Brooklyn Heights. I am now living overseas and will definitely visit Brookyn Heights nest time I come to visit. Many thanks!

Had the blessing of living on Columbia Hts. for nearly 3 yrs. in the 70’s. Hard to describe the unique sense of it - the neighborhood muffled the usual din of NYC, although it allowed in the distant hollow of harbor tug horns & the constant rumble of the BQE and the B. bridge. There was a certain feel of leather walking on blue-stone sidewalks while humming along with the warbling birds conversing 8 feet above you resting on the branches. The sight of following the arcs of the sun (both daily & seasonal) provided a tacit awareness of time by means of brownstone shadows. The occasions of savoring 10 cent 8 oz. glasses of tap beer at McGraths or grabbing a hero and a quart for less than a buck at the Plymouth sated the belly…and seemed to be the thing to do at the time. On the walk back west I could count on passing the Greeks playing dominos outside on their break from working at the St. George. When walking through Cadman Plz. I’d catch the whiff of the MTA drifting out the High St. entrance. Wow, great place, great memories - embedded!

I put a lot of bookmarks on my map because of you and I also utilized Khonsu. If it hadn't been for seeing that in one of your videos I wouldn't have known that a service like that exist that isn't ridiculously priced. My parents lived in Brooklyn Heights. That's where they met in 1941. They lived on Grace Court at the Promenade end. It was a lovely neiborhood then but not expensive. During the war there were required blackout periods along the waterfront. My parents were married at Plymouth church.

I learn loads with them from authentic cooking, to sheet pan meals, casseroles, one pot meals, airfryer meals, & so on & so on. With your channel, I am so very INSPIRED to go and see the sites, try many different foods (street foods in particular). Sooo many spots I want to try. For the food and sites I cannot wait to see. I see NYC in a whole new light. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!!! Arlene

I love how all the sidewalks are still visible and the leaves are still on the trees. Just got the first snowfall in Saskatchewan yesterday and spent today shoveling snow. I miss the warm weather already. That bridge looks like it has an amazing view of the city! I never knew Truman Capote lived in New York. I love the "Breakfast At Tiffany's" movie! That's awesome that they have a cat cafe in Brooklyn! There's a cat cafe in my city of Regina that costs $7 per person for 45 minutes. I haven't been there that often, though. I have two cats at home, so I feel like I'm already living in a cat cafe every time my cats bother me in the kitchen. That's cute that they have rats there, too. At least they seem friendlier than the rats people might encounter in the subway.

Brooklyn looks like a really cool place to live, you are so lucky, its looks like you have all the thrills of living in a big global city like NYC but with that intimate neighbourhood feel.Marilyn Monroe sadly said in one of her interviews that she would just love to just go and live and get a place in Brooklyn as it seemed she found it comforting and real and down to earth in some way and an antidote to the Hollywood film industry maybe ?!!

I was born and raised in NYC. First, in Greenwich Village on Perry Street. Then, my parents moved to Brooklyn Heights (Montague Street) when I was 10. 1/2 block from the promenade. As much as I love Brooklyn Heights, my heart belonged to Greenwich Village where I continued to attend school. After college, my first apartment was in Brooklyn Heights (Joralemon Street). After a year, I moved to a lovely garden place in a Boerum Hill brownstone. Got priced out and returned to my Greenwich Village roots where I currently live. That said, Brooklyn Heights is gorgeous and a step back in time. Thanks for this lovely video! ❤❤ P.S. Other famous Brooklyn Heights residents include Norman Mailer, Arthur Miller, Rod Steiger, and others. Also, the iconic film, "Moonstruck," was filmed there.
