One of Nigeria's famous festivals in the South Western part of the country, the Ojude Oba festival, has continued to receive applause from Nigerians and non-Nigerians as its widespread has taken over the trends on social media as well as the mainstream media in the country.
The popularity of this year's festival, which took place on Tuesday, June 18, been the third day of the Muslim Eid-el-Kabir, can be attributed to its most astonishing stylish outfit of the Ijebu indigenes as well as the unique cultural displays that showcased the rich culture of the Yoruba people.
During the event, the Minister of Culture, Arts and Creative Economy, Ms. Hannatu Musa-Musawa, who was overwhelmed by the display of culture described Ojude Oba as a platform for fostering the unity of the country as well as one of the country's tourism potentialities.
The event featured colorful parades, traditional dances, and homage paid by over 100 age-grade groups (Regberegbes) to the Awujale.
The theme for the 2024 edition of the festival is Unity and Harmony, Our Gifts.
