This is my favourite part of the entire game. Literally. It serves as this reminder that there is some sort of calm in this world. That you can be in this world of cruelty, confusion, isolation, dread and whatever, but you can still find a moment to just chill out. It just makes me feel comfortable. And warm. And ugh, idk it’s just such a good moment.

it gives me the same feeling as the classic resident evil save room music and some oddly cheerful dark souls music you rarely hear. they give off such a warm feeling after such a cold hard time. man all these devs are artistic masters at their craft.

The little detail with the lamp sound being in key with the song itself. This is everything.
@the-keymaker3 жыл бұрын
Im sorry for such a late comment, but turns out that the song is not in sync with the game, but the game is in sync with the song! the song leads the animations in the game, so the lamp is most likely also triggered by the song!
@ArcienPlaysGames3 жыл бұрын
@@the-keymaker Being late myself as well haha! I was more refering to the tonality of the sound itself, being in key with the music, rather than in sync. On the topic though, you probably have a point! Playdead have described both Limbo and Inside as "games that listen".

This kid sat at one of the most terrifying places on earth, shockwaves booming every 6 seconds, a guard could come and kill him any minute now, the place could collapse, allot more worse stuff could happen.. And yet, he sat there, recording the song, sound, and everything. Just for us, this video deserves the amount of views and likes it gotten if not it deserves more.

The integration of music and ambient sound here is genius. The low bass sound followed by the delayed 'ping' of the light has an explanation in the game's setting as well as a musical function, and to top it off the 'ping' is in key. It's cool to know I'm not the only one who stopped at this part for a while. INSIDE has some of the best sound design I've seen in a game.

The sound design in the game is one of the best that i have heard in just about any game that I have played. Like, take the shockwave segment of the game. There is a buildup, and then BOOM!!! The sound design is perfectly in-sync with the world. I know to run like hell, at the buildup, and I know when the shockwave hits, if i'm still not behind cover i'm dead. At the end of this game I just sat there in awe. The soundtrack, the sound design, the world, the story. Perfection in it's purest form.
