I just read a article from UK , comparing three of the methods and it says :The only less invasive procedure which will improve the appearance of pectus excavatum is implant surgery. However, this doesn’t repair the concaved rib cage and sternum typically associated with the condition. Can you explain this to me ?

Hello. We have sent you an email, but in case there is anyone else interested in the anser, we post it here: According to the sentence from the UK website we assume it refers to the silicone implants that are customized for each patient. The approach of the treatment with this kind of silicone implants is to fill the space between sternum and pectorals with the silicone material to obtain a better aesthetic result, without modifying the deformity underneath. If there are physiological constraints such as lack of breath or cardia issues caused by the Pectus Excavatum deformity they won't be solved with this kind of treatment. The rest of the surgical techniques, including ours, modify the thoracic cage structure by correction the Pectus Excavatum deformity thus also improving the values of breathing and cardiac issues.
