Let’s remind folks that when harvesting mountain lions in a Colorado you are legally required to prepare the meat for human consumption. NOBODY is hunting these beautiful creatures to just create a mount or take their pelt. If you plan on voting for Proposition 127 I ask you what you believe will happen when a predator population grows unchecked. With the absence of any other species to hunt them, won’t populations grow? Won’t these populations then require more resources to survive? How will that affect their prey’s population? How will this affect the workload of our already strained P&W departments? If hunters can’t work with P&W departments to facilitate their research, won’t that mean P&W will have to possibly cull populations? When you vote for Prop 127, you’re now discrediting the most knowledgable people overseeing our wildlife, increasing their workload, decreasing revenue that was originally used to support their department, which will increase your taxes. Now Colorado hunters won’t have access to a source of food, other wildlife populations will suffer, and your increased tax dollars are going to the government to harvest the very same animals in same exact way. Is this really what you want?

1. Lynx hunting is already illegal, they are endangered species and likely was added to the bill to appeal to peoples emotions. 2. "Trophy hunting" is a buzzword for something that is already technically illegal. When a mountain lion is legally harvested, the meat must be used for human consumption. (See wanton waste laws)

Anyone who supports this will be responsible if predator numbers increase and someone or any livestock is attacked or killed. If this happens how are you going pay for the damage caused by the predators?

None of us hunters want to see predators wiped off the face of the planet… but we do want to see is wildlife managed in a holistic approach. The anti-hunting community would have you believe that we are aliens to this planet That we are not part of the system And that if we left wildlife alone it would take care of itself. This may have been true when there was a couple million people in the world but there is 8billion and we touch everything all we do is consume that’s why more than ever conservation… not preservation is important. It is our duty as intellectual beings to manage all our resources… wildlife included to ensure its existence for perpetuity and come at it with the idea of balance. This Not only benefits the stake holders but the animals themselves.

Mountain lion meat was at the top of the list for what the mountain men liked to eat. Try calling some hunting guides to see if you can have a lion carcass for food. If the hunters don't eat them, the guides do. Mountain lion and bobcat meat are both GOOD! Taking the pelt and leaving the meat is ILLEGAL and has been for a long time. Lynx are already protected.

Not a fan of hound hunting for lions (or bears), it's not hunting at all. I do believe the lion population could be managed to allow hunting. Maybe a lottery for the tag that is NON transferable.

They use hounds to be able to identify sex and locate these animals. Do you understand how hard of a hunt these are even with dogs? The odds of you being able to kill one without using dogs or using a predator call is less than 1% . The state of California has to euthanize 250 cats per year using these same methods. What is the difference between the state killing them using taxpayers' dollars and someone wanting to pay to hunt them?
