This short video is so well done with a unique perspective of the behind-the-scenes workings of a great ship. I’d love to sail on her! I’ve sailed across the Atlantic six times in my life, but only once as an adult-with my husband in our twenties on a South African freighter from New York to Cape Town in 20 days-five more days than scheduled because of a blizzard on the East coast of the U.S! (My third crossing was on the original Queen Mary when I was 6, and I have quite a few memories of it.) We were on our way to live in Indonesia for four years and I wanted him to see Africa, where I had spent the first 16 years of my life, on the way. I’ve had the privilege of enjoying a cruise to the Bahamas twice since then, but there is nothing like crossing the Atlantic!

Very similar route to RMS Titanic. Often when you sail transatlantic on QM2 they make an announcement that you are within miles of the wreck.

Sailing on QM2 this Friday, Transatlantic to NY. It's made me even more excited, but also realise that there is a lot of things going on behind the scenes that will make my holiday enjoyable!

Mike Evans - and a lot of fuel burnt and gazillions quantity of CO2 produced!
@tonyhinojosa77104 жыл бұрын
philippe chevereau, yeah she produces a lot of Co2, but so do more than seven billion human beings. QM2 actually produces less Co2 than both of her sister ships combined.

dont worry about it sinking, this ship is an incredible piece of machinery. Theres stuff for everyone, except for maybe people that are in the 16-18 age range. just because they cant drink yet, and the kids club is full of young young kids. its always good if you find people to hang out with and get drunk with

That's for sure. Never going to happen. Cunard's only a plaque on a Princess/P&O building (back when they mismanaged themselves into a takeover that RCCL was going to do, Micky offered them their competition and keep their exec jobs if they took his offer). The Carnival Queen as it was called by Cunard folk in St Nazaire (short sighted snobs that didn't realize this is the last oceanliner-and last time they keep their jobs) cost too much and has too much dead space that isn't revenue generating to ever build another.
