For stop 4 of the Hobby Shop Tour, we're checking out RC 101 and Gifts in Depoe Bay, Oregon. Right on scenic coastal Highway 101, this family run business has many of their remote control models unboxed so you can get a hands-on experience before you buy. I also ran into their staff member John who I've met at Proline by the Fire and Axialfest (small world!!). They can also give you directions to some great local crawl spots to check out not far from the shop. Definitely worth the beautiful drive to check out their very large and diverse RC selection. Really badass little shop I love that they have everything on display that's a huge seller for me is being able to look and touch at everything the brand variety is also a huge selling point as well there's so many good cars from different companies nowadays

Just saw on your webpage that you are a Marine Biologist. Your hobby shop tour is cool, I heard him mention/ show GearHead rc wheels, I’ve got 4 sets now and they are the easiest to mount tires on that I’ve found, they are a little expensive but look amazing

Thanks for the info. I took a much needed roadtrip from Astoria. Something beside Tammy’s in Portland. They had all the parts I wanted. Was almost gonna buy some sticky tires but they had a ridge runner on the floor articulating. Put the tires Back and brought it home. Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.

The newer remotes are like holding a gun with a trigger, it's comfortable and easier than holding a box. Some people can do it all with one hand and steer with a thumb on the wheel (not me).
