Great videos Zane. India is my most favourite country to travel to. I’m an Aussie born and bred. I have been travelling to India for 40 years l’m in my late 70’s. I was in Mumbai this year in March and l tried Vada Pav street food it was so delicious. My first trip was in 1984 to Kashmir, unbelievable so now l’m addicted to India. I have been to many other countries but none of them compare with India. The culture, the people, the food just all number one. I love my India.

Good to hear that Aussie. How are you? I've been to India twice. First time I loved it for 48 days. Second time was last October to March of this year. Was super stoked the first two months but got into a bad mood with Udaipur and Vrindavan. Pushkar was great overall. Don't have any plans to return to Vrindavan. Definitely wanna go back at least two more times.

@@Di-ok4il rare positive feedback about India coming from an Aussie,who otherwise mostly have a very prejudiced and negative perception about this country, for which Australia's media is to blame. India and Australia have shared great political and bilateral ties which vested interests in media cannot digest and tolerate, which also explains the widespread Racism and xenophobia against India from certain Aussies

Worst time to visit India. November to March, are amazing & enjoyable. Even California and Europe are burning hot. Covering India in their worst season is not doing justice to it. After travelling 30 plus countries, I noticed Life & crazy Hustle Bustle in India is Unique & mind blowing. Life is Carnival there. Whole Country is busier than New York. You must visit India in December. Really Pleasant weather & amazing scenery & landscapes outside big cities. You haven't seen modern parts of Delhi also.

Never visit Delhi, Mumbai or the golden triangle. The worst places in India. Crowds, honkings, slums and all the stereotypes you will get here. Rather visit states like Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Assam, Ladakh, for a much calmer, quieter vacation with unique cultures, food, people, natural beauty ranging from cold ice covered hill stations to beaches to rain forests. These places are sure to change our outlook about India. If you want to visit a big city I would suggest Bengaluru in Karnataka than places like Delhi or Mumbai

Those concrete breakwater wall 'stars' are called Dolosses - designed/originated in South Africa
@vivipyt

Right!!! Just to add up, though Dolosses were originally from South Africa (1960s)..they are a form of Tetrapods which were designed and patented in France in 1950s....a really great innovation to disspate waves. Infact just like Dolos in SA, here in India at Krishnapatnam Port Breakwater, we have our own design known as KOLOS, I guess introduced in 2010.

Also just words of advice. You seem to be a solo traveller. That is the best way to travel, but you don't seem to be making much effort in talking to and getting to know people. Don't you feel lonely? The beauty of India is the people itself. Make friends when you go to these bars and cafes and you wil find helpers to take you around India. Trust me in India the more friends you make the safer you are and better your experience. You will also get less targeted by touts, who see a white guy walking alone looking as if he's lost as a target and prey. Wiser travel, dude.

Dude this is not the richest and most modern area in India or even Mumbai. In Delhi you need to go to South Delhi, Hauz Kuas and select city walk mall. Then head down to Gurugram and noida. In Bangalore go to MG road. In Mumbai check out phoenix mall and the area around there. Most modern places are where the malls are.

I find it hard to believe you've not had beggars beg you for money in any other country, including your own. Yes there are contrasts because India is a developing country, so you are going to have one section of people living in old India and a section of people living in new India. When you went into those bars and cafes you met people living in New India, on other hand the touts, beggars and slum dwellers are those living in old India. When the vast majority of people of India join new India, that is when India will become a developed country. That will be in 2047 when India turns 100 as based on government surveys, when those that are living in poverty will go from currently 200 million to 2% or 25 million. Approx 65% will then be middle class or approx 1 billion and 25% rich or 450 million. You will experience a very different India then when you visit. However, you will start to get a taste of that India by 2030 itself, when the majority of Indians will be middle class, approx 720 million and 120 million rich. Keep visiting and watch India develop before your eyes.

being impressed by India being 5th largest GDP and going to surpass Germany and Japan soon is akin to being impressed that a 6 ton elephant ate 6 people's rice in one sitting..India is a 6 ton elephant and Japan and Germany are 80 - 90 kg humans (in terms of population) - so the elephant named India is still starving even after eating 6 people's rice, does it make sense? India will be kind of above serious poverty when teh GDP becomes atleast 3 times of current size so roughly per capita reaching $7,500 from current $2,600 (nominal terms not PPP adjusted)

Mumbai may not be like Berlin London Tokyo or even Shanghai but it has its own charm. People talk about how Mumbai has slums but slums too will be a thing of the past as in the next 5 years a lot of these slums and shanties will give way to high-rises, just like we saw in other developing countries like Kenya, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria , etc. Mumbai aims to also eradicate diseases like dengue, malaria, tuberculosis, etc . and put a ban on open air urination / defecation , which few South Asian and other developing metropolitan cities have achieved in the past.

If you want to visit a big city I would suggest Bengaluru in Karnataka than places like Delhi or Mumbai

take a suburban local train to travel, travel faster to the main point, and then take a cab which would cut short the distance to less than 2-4 kms. since it was evening or night time, the trains run quite empty going towards the city from the suburbs in Bandra where you were. every tourist literally shoot their videos on the train travel as an experience.

@@gogadev The _vast_ majority of the population are not illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. Most people in India are Indians. It's not the few millions of poor Bangladeshi (that's nothing compared to the 1.3 billion inhabitants) that are the root of India's povery problem, it is and always has been the rich. And my small European country with a tiny population of 9 million has taken in lots and lots of immigrants and asylum seekers from the Middle East and Africa over the past 10 years. We also have Bangladeshi immigrants here. So... what are you trying to say?

@@SatieSatie india is not a small country like European countries, kid, it is 7th largest country by area and most populated country in planet, that's mean whole North America south America and europe combined population live in India, and you f**ing people only noticed negative things about India that's not your fault because western media only shows negetivity towards India, if you correctly searched you will find India also hold record for cleanest village of Asia, most cleanest air in world (ladakh), also hold record cleanest river in Asia, having slums not so proud of but every country have slums even japan have slums the difference is indias population is so huge that the people attracted towards cities and the cost is so high that they lived in slums but govt is reducing half of the slums by 2030 all slums of mumbai will replaced by skyscrapers. And unfortunately India is known for its ancient history it's quicine, it's diversity, it's spirituality, and obviously it's beauty, not known for slums it is the people like who only thought about this.

Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh: Chandigarh, Shimla, Manali and Kasauli. Kashmir: Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg Pakistan: Islamabad, Murree and Nathiagali. Then Kerala and Sri Lanka are entirely different from these places. Unfortunately, the most famous tourist destination in South Asia is Golden Triangle which is full of beautiful monuments but you need to know how to handle irritating touts and street vendors who at times get on your nerves.
