Roger Ballen is one of the most influential and important photographic artists of the 21st century.
Besides Photography, Roger has been working on many different projects as installations and he is also well-known for directing the music video "I Fink You Freeky", created for the cult band Die Antwoord.
Wladimir Autain interviewed him on the occasion of his solo exhibition "The world according to Roger Ballen" at La Halle Saint-Pierre in Paris.

C'est dur , quelle misère ! on ne sait pas si c'est une performance surréaliste et macabre ou si c'est la représentation d'un espèce de chaos de la réalité humaine, c'est l'effrois et c'est épouvantable cette représentation de l'Art .

Je comprends votre avis, il s'agit plus d'une esthétique à mon sens. L'utilisation de choses repoussantes pour en faire une composition mais le doute subsiste je vous l'accorde.
