Being in Singapore where the hawker culture is extremely diverse, I'm blessed to call myself a foodie as I grew up eating a myriad of cuisines and dishes. From Roti Kirai to Hainanese Oxtail Stew to Pork Sisig, I know exactly where to go when a particular craving strikes. Unlike other countries where decades-old cooking methods are preserved, Singapore serves up a medley of cultures that embraces creativity and innovation. Always looking forward to my next food adventure as I scour the island in search of mod-sin hidden gems! #SingaporeFoodFestival

What makes me a real foodie: First of all I LOVE eating so so so sooo much! I also started cooking cuz I loved eating but didnt want to rely on others to make good food for me. I also often get into arguments with my friends about food (typical Singaporean hahaha!) Whenever people ask me what’s your favourite food I always have a hard time answering cuz there’s SOO MANY!!!

What makes me a real foodie is that I come from families of hawkers and I grew up in coffee shops and hawker centres! I see the hard work that goes into food, so I can especially appreciate the hard work that goes into the flavours we know and love. ❤️ Whenever I travel, I like to explore off the beaten paths for 'less touristy' foods - always amazing to find the best flavours where you least expect it. 👍

What makes me a real foodie is that I am always opened to try new cuisines and different types of food but I would always love what we have in Singapore the most! Whenever I travel to different countries, I always make it a point to look out for good local food or highly rated restaurants/cafes on social media. But whenever I come back to Singapore, I would miss our food so much and get right back to loving what I eat everyday! Singapore food is amazing and awesome and I’m thankful to be living in this country that spoils all of us everyday with such good food.

I think what makes me a real foodie are many things. I always spend my free time browsing for amazing food to try around Singapore, new innovations and unique creations. I'm also always watching videos of people trying food, and recipes for home versions, be it on KZbin or TikTok! 😋 Once I take note of all these, I find time to go try them out whenever I can with like-minded friends and family. I'm also a very adventurous foodie and I'm always the first to try dishes that are completely foreign to me and my company! All flavours are wonderful to me and I truly appreciate every meal I have, as I get to savour the chef's hard work, devotion, and sincerity. Always looking forward to eating 😇

From the Philippines, grew up abroad namely Malaysia, Brunei, and Oman. Whenever we travel to other countries we make sure to go to local favorites, even if its an hour drive away from the city. Before youtube and/or instagram ever existed we’ve had countless number of bowls of kolo mee, plates of fried wet mee, nasi goreng, fried mee goreng and many more. I am a foodie because I grew up eating anything and everything, my parents had me try different culinary creations from different cultures/nationalities.

What makes me a real foodie? I'm always on the lookout for new foods, combinations and flavours across different cuisines and price points - from the extremely affordable hawker stalls, to hidden gems and cafes in the heartlands, to both authentic and fusion restaurants. I love to see how our food is so influenced by Singapore's history across time, from past settlers to modern influences, and I'm always so intrigued by the evolving landscape of food in Singapore. Most of all, I love bringing these ideas into my own kitchen, visiting less-known marketplaces and experimenting with new flavours and ingredients in my cooking, and using my unwitting family as guinea pigs ;)
