The Disney Cruise line ships have more then just the 4 category's of staterooms, there are 20+ subcategories in all of the ships and today I making the decision much easier by going over how I choose the right stateroom for me and how I feel about the inside stateroom.

I am basically an inside cabin cruiser. It's a money saver and I feel that money can be used on other parts of the cruise like excursions! When you get to cruise on the fantasy get the inside cabin there with the interactive porthole, super fun to look for characters randomly! Great informative video! Thanks for sharing.

We always sail with inside staterooms! We have actually been doing the category 11. It’s just my husband and I so we don’t mind sharing the bathroom. I always use the desk as my vanity area for hair/makeup so I don’t take up the bathroom. It’s a great compromise! Love all your cruise videos Michael. Thanks for all you do!

Great breakdown of the categories! We generally save up and go on fewer cruises in order to have a veranda or balcony. We tend to be leisurely risers and like to have breakfast on the balcony (either pastries and coffee or a full room service breakfast). I'm also a massive introvert and tend to get "peopled out" but I love to travel. Having a nice place to chill out, even for an hour or two a day, is essential for me. We're also older and have the ability to put away a little money for trips- and we get cranky if we feel uncomfortable.:)

I've stayed in all three types of staterooms on Disney Cruise Line and was very happy with all of them. We had four people in a standard inside stateroom (me and my three kids) on our last Disney cruise and we were fine. Our stateroom attendant made a very good point. He said that an inside stateroom can be a good way to go if you really want to go on a longer cruise that would be too expensive for you otherwise.

We’ve been in a Verandah room on the Dream, but our last 4 cruises we’ve booked an inside stateroom and it’s honestly become our favorite! We love how dark it gets at night and how good we sleep. We do wish that inside rooms on the Magic and Wonder had the magic portholes that the inside rooms on the Dream and Fantasy do. It’s our favorite inside stateroom feature. We really only use our stateroom to sleep, so inside is perfect for us :)

Michael, we were on your NYE cruise on Wonder when you had massive rumble. We were also aft. The problem we had was specific to Wonder after her drydock and they solved it since.

I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your inside stateroom! So many people bash them. My family has always sailed in them. When we were a family of five, we had two connected inside, that way we had two bathrooms which was amazing. We did do one cruise with four of us in the standard inside and I admit that it was too tight on the rare occasions we were all in there together. But now that we are down to three of us, my husband, myself and our teen son, the inside room is just fine. Someday I'd like to splurge on a veranda, but thanks to your videos and a visit to a friend's oceanview room, I don't think I'll try that type of room. Thanks for your honest review of these rooms. :)

We had the same issue with the guaranteed room. They put us in the Aft. We talked to guest services and they moved us to the forward in a bigger and better room for no charge

I'm going on my very first cruise in two weeks to celebrate my 16th birthday with my mom! We've used your channel as our biggest resource since the early planning stages of our vacation. We have been in two different types of inside staterooms. The first time was a standard inside stateroom and the second was a deluxe inside stateroom. Both are incredible! We love them so much!

We started out with having balcony room but our last two cruises were inside cabins. Our first was an inside room on a 15 day cruise and loved it. Our cabin on the Wonder was inside with the split bathrooms. Liked the room but didn't feel like it was of benefit. We've booked the Magic with an inside, one bathroom. Good information - expected nothing less from you !🙂

Working in cruise/travel biz, motion sickness/vertigo is a common concern, I recommend forgoing an inside cabin as equilibrium is a huge factor. Midship is always popular too. That rumbling is a fat no lol! Tip: Guarantee means what is left with possible upgrade.Love your channel, Michelle is fabulous😀🥰

On the older ships we also heard some room creaking (like wood) on deck 6 aft when we were in open deeper water as the ship rocked side to side. It wasn't bad but something of note.

Michael I stayed on the Wonder in 2015 in room 2145. We did not feel the rumble that much, but we did here it. I think that you felt it due to the fact your room was directly connected to the hull.

We were going on the dream for the inaugural cruise when we got a call from Disney offering us an upgrade concierge. Oh Em Gee you want to talk about being pampered! So since then we’ve been on deck nine or eight it’s tough to transform down to the smaller rooms but at least you got a taste of what it was like

I think on the disney cruise website certain staterooms will say they have deals on them. They are most commonly rooms where people wouldn't want to be, engine, Under restaurants, pool, ect.

This video create SOOOO many extra questions that you never answered. Like on the Engine top room... 1) define Discounted rate vs normal rate. 2) Define Restricted room. 3) Is the front of the boat okay? 4) Is the back of the boat where the engine noise is? 5) Etc etc

My family and I cruised on the Wonder many years ago and we were in stateroom 2150. We felt and heard the engine rumble one time when we were docking in Nassau. Otherwise, the room was quiet and very comfortable.

We’ve only ever stayed Aft on the starboard side and while yes, you can feel some engine rumble, it’s not that bad at all unless you’re pulling into dock. But, we’ve only stayed on deck 8 and 7. So maybe that made a big difference since you and David were on deck 2? But we love Aft. And we like staying completely Aft bc you get a bigger veranda.

I've always stayed in a mid inside stateroom 7 and 6 floor because is cheaper and I feel that I sleep better without having daylight coming in. But never tried the verandah. In november I will be cruising and will be trying a lower mid inside stateroom on the first level with split bathrooms. So let's see how quiet it is at night. Tfs michael

We'll be staying in a Category 11C on the Fantasy. It's a midship inside accessible room (I'm in a wheelchair and have a service dog). I've never seen any videos or photos of an inside accessible room, but I'm hoping it's comfortable for all of us. It will be a larger room, so I'm not sure why it's considered a Category 11C. I am looking forward to the magic porthole! THANK YOU for all of your videos, Michael! They're helping me a lot!

If I am solo cruising then I am absolutely fine with an inside stateroom on almost any deck. It is nice to have a pitch black room for daytime naps and at night. However, if I share a stateroom with others then we vote on what type of room and location of that room. For me the cabin is just a place to sleep, shower and change clothes. I'd rather spend my money on experiences or the next adventure. I love to cruise and hope to go back on a Disney Cruise soon.

You can throw the ship and cabin # in google and oftentimes find reviews of the cabin from people who cruised in that stateroom. When we were considering a cruise (we had to put it off due to finances), I did that and found info on all of the staterooms we were considering. Some of the reviews had info on noises and things. Just throwing that idea out there.

One thing about inside rooms, is that it's dark. Like inside of a cave dark. You'll need your phone light to get to the bathroom...or bring nightlights or battery powered 'tea lights'. I'm the kinda guy that likes a balcony and bloody mary on the balcony with a light breakfast from the buffet brought back to the room. (Pack slim jims for swizzle sticks)

I would always go with a inside stateroom, because 1 it's cheaper, and 2 I like it dark when I am sleeping. I hate light coming in when I am trying to sleep, though the one down side is that there is no view out side.

Some other comments on location. You need to be aware about ships facilities around or near your room. You mentioned about being near the engine room but also there are the theaters and kids clubs. You will hear noise from those areas as well. It’s all about location.

On the Dream we (just me and my husband) had an veranda and on the Fantasy we had an inside state room after staying in both rooms We will always go for the inside state room.We only slept 💤 and shower 🚿 save that money 💰!!!!

We stayed aft on deck 5 for several cruises, but found that we could hear the noise from the restaurant below. We now moved up to deck 6, but still aft. We like how easy it is to get to the 3 aft restaurants on the Wonder and Magic. Love the Wonder.

The way I see it is. Your don’t really need a big state room beacuse you want sped a lot of your time in the room you’ll spend 90% exploring and stuff so you don’t even really need a big stateroom

On the Carnival Imagination, there are limited categories. Wind-nos, windows, and balcony (only in suites). The only thing is deck or bow, mid, or aft. I might cruise Disney at one point.

Michael, You are my go to guy for Disney information. There are plenty of women who also have videos describing staterooms but I find their voices highly irritating because they end their sentences on a high tone. Almost as if they are asking a question. So they are describing lists of things and intonating each on a high note and for some reason, to my ears, its like scratches on a chalkboard. Thank God you dont do that! I dont know where they are from, I grew up in NH and have lived in Michigan for 30 years. Why do certain girls do that??!! Annoying. OK vent over. Michael I like you best. I watched your videos before my New Years 2019 Fantasy cruise and now we are taking a 14 day East to West Panama Canal cruise March 2020 on the Wonder. I haven't been on this ship since my college age kids were in lower elementary school. So there's a lot to catch up with this ship. My current issue is that the only staterooms available are inside staterooms and I've never had an inside stateroom on a Disney ship. BTW you should try a Panama cruise. When I realized its about the same price as an 8 day Caribbean cruise I got really excited. But the difference between an inside cabin and a veranda cabin is about $5000, when some veranda staterooms opened up, I had to say no. I love Disney ships so much I don't like getting off, so 7 days at sea is no issue for me. Plus I can cross off a bucket list item of crossing the panama canal! Never thought I'd do it but I cant wait now that the opportunity presented itself. Love your work. Keep doing it We all need to see the details so we can make better cruise decisions.
