And if you don't, would you mind to ask your elderly people in your family or neighborhood to see if anyone knowing of vietnamese boat people back then. U feel a little distinguished from the rest of Thailand because Narathiwat is at the border of Kelantan (Malaysia). Their custom and lifestyle are very similar to their southern neighbour. Every fabric of life is staunchly adapted from Malay ethos: simple, unworldly and “sopan-santun”/reserved hospitality. Glad you took the challenge to visit Deep South despite discouragement from negative advice.

@topixfromthetropix16743 жыл бұрын
Not a myth, dude, around 7,000 people have died from terrorist attacks in the extreme southern provinces. since 2004. The Thai cops often have active checkpoints although being a foreigner often gets you a wave-thru at checkpoints because the cops don't want to lose face if they can't communicate with you. Visiting during a Muslim festival may have distorted some realities. There are terrorist cells but the people are very friendly and curious. There are frequent bombings although the covid virus seems to have reduced the terrorist activity. Police and teachers are often targeted in bombings although attacks on police stations are also carried out with guns.

@@topixfromthetropix1674 You are probably right. I don't know much about Thai politics. But what I have seen in Paddy's videos are beautiful southern provinces with friendly people. It seems to me for Paddy it's not dangerous at all to be there. Or am I wrong?

Very interesting vlog Paddy. The UK Foreign Office still advises against all but essential travel to the southern three provinces, which might affect a tourist's insurance if they were to be involved in an accident. (More likely than a terrorist incident). The thing that always strikes me about these increased risk areas is that the people on the ground are still living the best lives they can, with family, friends and laughter - just as we all do. Thanks for showing us somewhere so different.

Paddy, your content is next level my friend. Enjoying the vids so much. Mate, a few question. With the membership and Patreon, how much earlier do you release the videos and can I be on any level to receive the content early? Also, I know a little about the platform, so I was wondering how you do that? Is there an option to publish it only for members or Patrons or do you keep the vid private and share it with them somehow? Last thing, in releasing the video early, does that effect your videos performance when it is officially published? I know the KZbin algorithm can be vicious. Hope you have the time to answer my questions.

Paddy, your quick tour of Narathiwat is incredibly amazing. The choice of the hotel with a two-minute walk to the beach is a good choice. The game you have observed is called “sepak takraw”. It is one of the competed games on the biennial Southeast Asian Games. One thing you will notice that most of the Southern provinces are predominantly Muslim given its proximity to Malaysia. Even the food selections are of good fusion. You are blessed to be in Narathiwat during Ramadan they normally break the fasting after 6pm and you will see more activities after sunset. The burger looks delicious and at an affordable price. I only passed by Narathiwat once en route to Malaysia and I haven’t explored the place as you do. Your aerial shot is superb. Thank you, Paddy for giving us a quick tour of Nara. This is virtually entertaining. Congrats. Can’t wait for you to visit Phatthalung, Trang and Nakhon Si Thammarat, soon. Keep safe.
