Using a shortened/narrowed 1927 Buick frame and a heavily modified/narrowed Jeep CJ-7 cowl I built a single seat race car inspired by Harry Miller’s “Miller 91” race car. It is incredible what the early race car designers were able to accomplish.

I got to meet Leo Gossen at LA in 1945 at his studio in the garage. He passed away a while later.

One more chapter to the story: Leon Duray shipped a pair of Millers to Europe to race in 1929. He was only marginally successful and couldn't afford to ship them home, so he sold them to Ettore Bugatti. Bugatti soon came out wit a redesigned head featuring the DOHC arrangement.

Super cool. I am slowly building a turn of the century machine shop that will allow me to make any parts that are not made anymore. I plan on specializing in prewar race cars and sports cars that have not been built in nearly 100 years. I will be starting my KZbin cahnnel with the building of a 1928 RIP MG SPecial Morgan 3 wheeler with 4 wheels. The second one in the queu will be an MG Magnette that I have located an engine , gearbox and rear differential with beautiful wire wheels. Thank you for saving these beautiful machines. I would love to get in touch with you and build a friendship that can take us even further into the recreation o0f our old steel.
