Thank you for sharing this video! I lived in Gary IN (Glen Park) in the 1960's. Gary had the most stunningly unique architectural masterpieces that anyone could ever imagine. At one time, decades ago, it was a beautiful and a great place to raise a family. I had a wonderful childhood. This Methodist Church was like no other. Even in it's deteriorating state, you can still see how amazing it once stood in all it's Glory. 🙏🤲🕊💞

A stunning building. What a disaster after the fire. Interesting location and the history about it. Thanks for sharing this video 👍

As you mentioned, I have seen many videos of this location. None have taken the time to give it the respect it deserves. I loved the use of the diminishing choir pics to show how the church was in a state of decline. Well done, Ruin Road! I look forward to your next work of art. Stay safe out there!

It was so beautiful. I pass by it still a few times a year. Even the ruins are beautiful. Sorry it couldn't have been saved.

Thank you for all the before pictures. So sad that entire building and church is just left to crumble.

Excellent! Amazing comparison shots. It really was an architectural gem. So beautiful in it's day. Really appreciate the historical background. Shame to see it in its current state of ruin. Stay safe. Stay well 😷👍

What a beautiful building this once was, and so heart breaking to see the shape it is in now. Such a shame to lose impressive architecture like this was. Vandals certainly have no respect for anything.

Everything gotta go some day it ain’t that sad to lose a building. It has new beauty now for those who can behold it

Wow, crazy to see how far gone that building is now. None of those classroom walls were down when I last explored it. Almost seems like somebody deliberately did that to make it more unstable. Saw something similar done to a building in KC several years back.

it's such a shame how much worse it's gotten, my friends and I first started going there around 2009-2010 and you could easily get to most of the places and the walls weren't caving in, it was always a lot of fun walking around in there

I like how you bring up the pictures when it was open and a vital church as comparison. Sad, but really hits home!

This abandoned church reminds me of the ruins of castles in Europe. Where the stone remains, but the veneer is gone like a dream.

Just look at the joy down in their hearts at 13:01. This must have been when the pastor announced his intent to welcome people of color.

Great video. I have seen this church in urbex videos and wondered what it looked like in its heyday. It was amazing; what a tribute to the glory of God and what a shame it's fallen into ruin, but we should always remember what the hymn tells us, 'tower and temple turn to dust.' It reminds me of the London church of which my great-grandfather was one of the founder members; an amazing neo-gothic building but within just 60 years its congregation had ebbed away and it closed permanently in the late 1970s.

Had this church received proper mainrenance. It could have survived a million years. What a great return on a capital investment.

Beautiful art deco architecture. Sadly, doesn't appear to be salvageable. At least very few bits of the building are.
